I’ve got to be honest, this year was monumental. Learning we were pregnant in January, my dad going into the nursing home, a new job at work, having a baby….a LOT happened. It also felt like a whirlwind. Looking back at some of these memories, some feel 1,000 years ago and some I hardly remember (lots of emotional fog going on!).
Here’s a look back at 2016.
In January, dad had emergency eye surgery (which sadly, started the spiral of Alzheimer’s progressing quickly and him ending up in a nursing home). But it’s an important part of this year. We had to drive him to Little Rock in snow and icy roads for the surgery.
My sister came to visit, we went to ClueMasters for an escape room (and this was the day I found out I was pregnant!).
At the end of February, mom and I went to NYC and saw HAMILTON! Highlight of the year for sure! Seeing the entire original cast was AMAZING.
In March, we announced our pregnancy!
I got my concealed carry license, which was a big accomplishment this year!
In April, I got to go back to NYC for work! It was a great conference and I got to see 4 more shows!
We had a gender reveal party to announce that we were having a GIRL!!
We went to Tulsa with our moms to shop for baby furniture and see Pentatonix!
While we were in Tulsa, I flew a kite for the first time ever!
In May, Amber and I went to Hanson Day! Always a good time!
We celebrated my 29th birthday in June!
Mom and I spent many afternoons floating around the lazy river at the waterpark. Pregnant in the summer meant floating in the water for relief.
Tyler and I took a little babymoon to Branson/Big Cedar.
While in Branson, I took Tyler bowfishing, which spawned a new hobby.
In July, I took the dreaded glucose test and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. It stunk to have to be so careful and check my sugars 4x a day…but it kept me and Remi healthy!
We took our maternity pictures!
We were beyond blessed with 4 amazing baby showers!
My bestie came to visit and she had sweet baby Avery was just a peanut in her belly!
Tyler bought a fishing boat which meant spending the end of my pregnancy on the water.
In October, Remington Grace joined our family!
And we had the BEST gift ever under our tree!
2017 will be big. Turning 30- having a baby with us. I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
