This week I was sure glad for the outfit prompts….because I wouldn’t have given fashion much though otherwise! I had a busy week- returning from Hanson Day, having a migraine one night, having a late night for local theater auditions…..fashion would have been on the back burner. But with some ideas in mind, it was easy to make cute outfits on the fly.
I’m linking up with The Made Thing to recap Week 3 of the 21 Day Fashion Challenge! Go check out all the other entries this week!

Monday’s prompt was Go Big or Go Home. I wore my loud and flowy Aztec maxi skirt to make a big statement (skirt is Gibson Latimer from Dillards). I paired it with a ruffled tank (Dillards) and a short sleeve cardigan (Loft) to make it work-appropriate. I added some yellow jewelry from Charming Charlie’s and some sandals from Rue La La. Monday was also the only day this week that my outfit pic has be with finished makeup. 😉
Tuesday was “Throwback Thursday” which Kim said was a mistake and supposed to happen on a Thursday! ha! But I went with it anyway- going for a retro look.
I LOVED Wednesday’s prompt- Southern Trends. YES PLEASE. I wore my watermelon ankle pants (NYDJ from Rue La La), a tank from a local boutique, and a monogrammed denim shirt from a daily deal site. I topped it off with pearls, including a pearl bracelet with a bow. 🙂
Thursday was a bit of a struggle conceptually for me. Opposites Attract. How do I show that through an outfit? I decided to go with structured vs. flowy for my opposites. I wore a flowy skirt from Kohl’s paired with a structured top from Dillards (Gibson Latimer brand). I added some wedges from TJ Maxx and some light blue beads that I got at a boutique in Eureka Springs.
Friday was about dressing up your jeans- and I had fun adding a cute necklace and fun shoes to my jeans and T-shirt. The capris are Kut from the Kloth (got them for a steal on eBay!), necklace is Premier Jewelry, and the shoes are gold chevron Ked’s. I got the shirt at Hanson Day- I love it! And to make it a work appropriate look, I topped it with my work logo cardigan. It’s a fun, glitzy look for my work T-shirt and jeans casual Friday.
As far as other looks this week that I loved, I REALLY adored Kim’s Go Big or Go Home look. She rocked a fun head scarf for her bold look. So cute!
Monday, I’m going to own you! #21DayFashion prompt today is go big or go home, so I’m sporting a big bow. I tried this over the weekend & loved it so decided to repeat with an outfit made just for this hairstyle. What do you think? It’s also #makeupfreemonday to give my skin a chance to breathe so just a simple swipe of lipstick is it today! I love easy looks like this. I’ve also been thinking a lot during this challenge around the fact that I am, at heart, a lazy gal when it comes to fashion. And us lazy gals have a lot of tricks for looking amazing with minimal effort. I’ve decided to share my secrets in an ebook! I hope to release in June for my birth month.
We have one more week left! Come back next week to see how we finish the challenge.
