Back in time! I need your help!

So for my birthday in Zumba…we are having an 80s party.
Like I already ordered a leotard to wear over my leggings.  And leg warmers.  I’m going all out.
I love a good theme night.  What can I say?  I’m drawn to all things eccentric and crazy like a moth to a flame.  It doesn’t matter the theme.  80s, western, hawaiian…Let me enlighten you with some photos from the 80s night my sorority had in college….

Freshman year with my girls.  I acid washed that skirt myself.  Red tights, ACDC shirt.  I won the costume contest that year…

Sophomore year.  My roommate and I.  She was a smurf!

As pledges that year, we had to dance.  My acid wash skirt made a reappearance with a Miami Vice shirt and some turquoise heels.  You should also note that half my pledge class is wearing stuff from my costume closet.  That blue sequin skirt on the L?  mine.  Her silver snakeskin jacket?  Mine.  The girl in the blue top with the ugly skirt?  Skirt is mine!  The girl in the leather pants and shiny green vest?  Both mine. 🙂
Junior year: I’m in the front row in the yellow tights, blue heels, and rainbow jacket.  And my hair is crimped.  Yes, I bought a crimper just for this night.

Senior year.  Tyler and I.  Hello leg warmers.  I currently wear that shirt as nightshirt.  Sexy, I know.  And Tyler’s shirt?  Its a neon squirrel holding a stereo.  Awesome.
So with 80s night at Zumba,  I’m having solidifying a playlist.  I currently have:
Footloose- Kenny Loggins
I think we’re alone now- Tiffany
Billy Jean- MJ
The Right Stuff- NKOTB
Ice Ice Baby- Vanilla Ice
and a couple others I can’t remember, but I’m too lazy to go get my iPod.
I am looking for a more rock song to put in.  And a hair band song.  These songs should be sorta upbeat, since we will be doing Zumba to them. I need suggestions!
Help a sister out!  What are your favorite 80s jams?

  1. This stuff is fresh on my brain! I’m on my 20 year high school reunion planning committee and we’ve got a facebook poll going on right now for what songs everyone wants the DJ to play. It was 1992, but we were still listening to the 80’s. Here ya go!
Livin’ on a Prayer – Bon Jovi
Pour Some Sugar on Me – Def Leppard
    U Can’t Touch This – MC Hammer
Welcome to the Jungle – Guns & Roses
Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
You Gotta Fight for the Right to Party – Beastie Boys

  2. You’re Welcome! I’m so excited for my reunion. Can’t wait to hear all these songs and more. I think maybe U Can’t Touch this was 1990. Oops. You’re Zumba party sounds so fun!
