Exciting Weekend: Strawberries and Motorcycles

Exciting Weekend: Strawberries and Motorcycles

I’m a little behind on posting, but I’m going to try and get caught up.

We had a full weekend at the beginning of May. On a Friday evening, Tyler had to work, so me and Remi had a quiet evening at home- where she drug out ALL the toys. (Side note: we got rid of our coffee table and I don’t miss it! Love the open space).

Saturday morning, we went to see our friends for their garage sale. In fact, I took them breakfast. Tara asked for cheesecake for breakfast, and you better believe I delivered!

Remi and Amelia played together (somewhat…Remi wasn’t feeling well…turns out she had a UTI, so she was borderline bratty). But it was fun watching them together. They were throwing Easter eggs in the yard together.

After the yard sale, we met Mimi and Gigi to pick strawberries! It’s always our mother’s day tradition- and since we were going to be out of town on mother’s day- we had to do it early. Remi wasn’t totally into it since she wasn’t feeling great, but we all got a big bucket full of delicious berries.

After a nap and a dose of antibiotics (PS yay for at-home UTI tests from Walgreens and telemedicine to call in antibiotics after Facetiming a doctor!), she was feeling a little better.  Tyler was working a motorcycle rally downtown, so we ventured down there for dinner to see him.

Remi LOVED all the loud bikes! She wanted to stand on the side of the road to watch them.

This picture cracks me up. Sometimes she’s my mini, and other times, she is Tyler’s carbon copy. This was one of those times.

I’m thankful for family time, no matter how we have to get it.

Family Park Picnic

Family Park Picnic

The weather has been so nice, so we wanted to play outside. For whatever reason on this particular Sunday evening, Remi kept wanting to come in. So we fixed that and went to the park so we got to enjoy the evening.

Silly girl wanted to wear her light-up Batman sandals, yes, with her frilly socks and church dress.

First stop is always the swings. She LOVES to swing. Daddy is still the best swing pusher because he makes her go so high.

We also did some slides. She invited me to play “Come follow me, momma” so I got to slide some too.

Daddy thought about bringing her bicycle, so she got in a little practice. The balance bike is slowly coming along.

We also packed some sandwiches (and stopped at the Dollar Store to buy chips and water bottles) and had a picnic dinner.

After dinner, some people came to play basketball, and Remi wanted to watch.  The people were so nice and passed her the ball a couple times, which she liked.  She’s such a people watcher, it’s fun to experience the world through her eyes.

Fun Leading Up to Easter

Fun Leading Up to Easter

The day before Easter, our little town had a fun egg hunt at the park. It was great- different areas for different aged kids. TONS of candy-filled eggs. And THE EASTER BUNNY.

Remi loves people in costumes, and she was pumped to meet the bunny.

Before the hunt started, she was “SO CITED!” (so excited!)

IMG_9735

The only drawback was since the eggs were “hidden” around the playground, she wanted to stop and play more than hunt the eggs.

After the hunt, we did our fair share of playing. This girl LOVES a good park.

After lunch and nap, we got together with the cousins to dye eggs. Most of her eggs were blue, her favorite color.

These kids may be big, but they had fun with their littlest cousin.

Mimi had turned the pool heater on, and while the water was still cool, most of the kids got in and splashed around. Remi can’t wait for warm summer days at the pool.

We grilled burgers and dogs for dinner and played until dusk. It was a great family day together!

Celebrating Easter

Celebrating Easter

Easter was a wonderful blessed day!

The Easter Bunny left some goodies out for Remi that she found upon waking (a balance beam, pom poms and some other fun stuff!).  She wanted to go outside and use her new bubbles first thing and I told her “No baby, it’s too wet outside” (from the dew).  She peeked out the front window to see if it was wet and she spotted EGGS!

The Easter Bunny had help from our local dance team who left candy filled eggs in our yard (a great fundraiser for them!). She gasped and wanted to go right out and get them.

Each egg was a new surprise. Sweet girl was running around gathering and shaking the eggs.

We got ready and headed to church.

As a family, we served as greeters, and she LOVED taking bulletins to everyone walking in. I loved watching her.  She was happy as long as there was music going, but she quickly got antsy during the sermon, so we went into the lobby.

After, we took some family photos. It was wonderful to all be together on Easter.

My friend from college, Lauren, made this dress for her. Lauren runs Sew Sweet It Is– check her out!

Daddy and Gavin hid eggs while she played, and then she hunted while lunch cooked.  She was, once again, THRILLED at all the eggs. They were cold from the fridge, which she thought was fun!

Auntie helped her find some eggs up high!

“Show momma your eggs”  “EGGGGGGGGS”

IMG_9831

We all played and lounged around after lunch. She LOVES Lukey.

IMG_9832

She got some musical instruments from Mimi, so we had a fun musical parade. We all grabbed an instrument and walked around the kitchen and living room.

IMG_9833IMG_9834

When it was nap time, everyone left so she could rest. After nap, we went to Gigi’s house to play with her tractor and horse. Remi LOVES Gigi’s new horse, Rex. Tyler and I took a quick ride on him, too!

It was a great day with family! We are SO THANKFUL for our Risen Savior, and that we can celebrate Easter.
