Five on Friday: Things I did This Week

Five on Friday: Things I did This Week

Linking up for Five on Friday with five things I did this week.

1. Last night we watched our wedding video for our anniversary (we are going out tonight to celebrate). I had so many thoughts: my cousins were SO tiny 4 years ago!  We had SO many friends and family there. I was so overwhelmed watching it.  We had tons of crowd shots where you could see who all was there….and it’s just such a blessing to have started our life together surrounded by so much love.

2. I bought this dress.  I was looking for something similar online and found it…for $22!!  It was so cheap because I got the last one. Boom.

3. I have been furiously voting for Hanson here.  It’s a pop song March Madness face off…and right now they are up against Britney Spears and her army is voting like crazy.  Hanson stands no chance because Britney has such a big following…but I’m voting anyway.  Go vote here!

4. A couple nights this week it was really nice out, so we sat on our porch.  I love evenings out there. It’s dusk and dark, so I sit in my comfy chair with a blanket and we listen to the crickets and owls. It’s perfect.

5. We spent a couple nights without the TV on.  While we do have many shows we love, it’s been nice to have more conversation and quiet. I like it.

Frive on Friday: It’s the Freakin’ Weekend

I’m linking up with the Good Life Blog for Five on Friday.  Here are my 5 random things this week.
1. Tyler has been out of town hunting for a couple nights.  He saw more deer yesterday than he’s seen all year!  He shot one, but then they couldn’t find it after….so let’s hope he brings home some deer meat! I want some deer chili!
2. With him being gone, it’s been quiet at the house for a couple nights.  I have done lots of cleaning, gave Mikey many belly rubs, and I discovered my new favorite wine.  I may have drank an entire bottle of it this week. OOPS! I knew I liked Stella Rosa wine after having it at a friend’s house.  When I went to buy some, they were out of the Stella kind I’d had….so I bought Stella Black at the recommendation of the guy at the liquor store. I want to go hug him for introducing me to this.  So yum.  It’s a red, but it’s sweet and light and fruity.
3. Taylor and Kristin are coming to visit this weekend!  I CAN NOT wait for them to get here. I’m cooking a Mexican Fiesta for them tonight…and then tomorrow we are going to Fayetteville to play.   And of course, since we all originally met because we are Hanson fans, we will be watching some Hanson DVDs.
4. I ordered a license plate for my new Prius (from here).  It matches my new monogrammed car mats.  Can’t wait for it to come in!
5.  We need a new loveseat.  Ours is just not great quality and it isn’t comfortable to sit on anymore. Tyler REALLY wants one with a center console.  He prefers to sit in our recliner because of the arm rests, so he thinks if we get a loveseat with a console, he will want to sit on the loveseat with me more often because of the arm rest.  It’s not totally hideous…but I’m not sure I love it. The neatest part is inside the console is a plug and a USB port for phone charging.  Pretty cool. What do you think?  Honest feedback, people.
HAPPY WEEKEND! Hope yours is great!

Friday Five: Randoms

Linking up with The Good Life Blog for Five on Friday.

1. BIG week for my alma mater, Ouachita Baptist University.  My freshman dorm mom, Momma Chu, always talked about her daughter Jane.  She was VERY proud.  And living on the same hall as Momma Chu, I felt like I heard about Jane more than most.  Well, earlier this week, PRESIDENT OBAMA asked Jane to head up the National Endowment for the Arts. NBD. Just a very important OBU grad.

2. Another Ouachita grad (who actually at one point dated two of my little sisses! ha!  Sisters sharing misters!) was cast in a real Broadway musical!  Jacob Watson was in this article about being in Violet, a new musical with Sutton Foster.  Freaking out. I wish we hadn’t bought all our Broadway tickets already, or I’d be there supporting Jacob in a heartbeat.

3. I got my Valentine’s gift from Tyler early.  A heated chair massager for work.  At first, I wasn’t totally sold…but after sitting on it for a day….best gift ever.

4. New Zumba song- Vivir Mid Vida by Marc Anthony.  I totally looked up the Spanish lyrics so I can sing along.  Do I know what I’m saying? Nope.  But I can totally sing along in Spanish.

5.It’s going to be in the 60s for a week.  GOODBYE Winter!!!  I am excited to start running outside again….this time with mom! We’re gonna train for a 5k together!

Hope you have a great Valentine’s day!  Remember, to love yourself, and remember that even though God knows everything about you, He loves you more than you can ever imagine!

Friday Five and a Little More About Me

I’m linking up with the Good Life Blog for Friday Five…and with A Blonde Ambition for Getting to Know You More!

1. Tyler bought me tickets to see Bruno Mars for my birthday.  (Well, ok…I actually purchased the tickets because Ticketmaster freaks him out…but he paid for them!).  The show is the night before my birthday in June.  Can’t wait.

2. Tyler grandpa had a pacemaker put in yesterday.  He’s doing well….but if you would, just say a prayer for continual (fast) healing. He’s not great at resting and being still….so he needs some down time.

3. I’ve been wanting to stencil a wall in our guest bathroom for a while…and yesterday Groop Dealz had a stencil on sale…so I bought it!  I hope when it comes in I can convince Tyler to do it. It’s a tiny wall, so it shouldn’t be too bad…This is the stencil I bought.  I want to do a dark grey over the white that’s in the bathroom.

4. We always watch the Olympic opening ceremonies and eat an “international” meal (like last Olympics I picked up Chinese and Thai food….but this year Tyler wants Italian.  So it’s Olive Garden to go tonight! 🙂

5.  My friend Rachael is a missionary in Cambodia.  I would LOVE for you to donate to her.  Her phone was stolen (thank God she’s ok!), but it’s her lifeline back home.  If you could even Paypal her $5, it would help her buy a new phone.

You can send money via Paypal to rachaelallen7@gmail.com or give through World Outreach.

Now for Getting to Know You More!!

1. What’s your middle name? Deanne.  It’s a part of my email, IG and Twitter handle.

2. If you could live anywhere else in the world where would you live? For me, Nashville, TN. I love that town.  But since I like Tyler more…I guess I’ll stay put since he hates city life.

3. Tell us about your guilty pleasures. Wine, a Mob Wife (orange juice, coconut rum, amaretto, and grenadine), bubble baths, binge watching TV shows that I’ve seen a million times (like marathons of America’s Next Top Model).

4. What do you like best about your job? If you weren’t doing that, what career would you have pursued? I like the low stress factor (most of the time). I write, so we do have deadlines and performance goals…but I’m able to leave work at work.  I enjoy my coworkers a ton, too.  They are great people.

5. Five items you’d grab during a fire. (People and pets don’t count. Those are a given.).  Our wedding photo disc, my box of Hanson CDs and books (don’t judge me!), our wedding platter guest book, our jar of sand from the wedding, and probably my Fiesta cookie jar.

6. Marathon running…something you’d like to pursue or just plain crazy?.  Full Marathons?  Crazy for me. I can see why some people want to accomplish that, but I have no desire.

7. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Mexican food.  Preferably from Patron here in town.  They have the best queso (with chorizo added in!), delish salsa, and my favorite Mexican Lasagna.

8. Last person you spoke to…annnnnd….go! Spoke to?  My mom on the phone last night.

9. Favorite childhood toy- Barbies.  Hands down.

10. Breakfast cereal of choice.  Fruity pebbles with coconut milk.  Or Honey Graham O’s.  And now I’m hungry…

Happy weekend, friends!
