Social Butterfly

Social Butterfly

She had no choice but to be personable.  If you know me or her daddy, we talk to everyone. We make friends easily. It’s in her blood.

She had a very social week.

First, she was talking to the baby she found in the mirror. ha!

We went to the 1st annual Food Truck Festival on Saturday. The actual festival was a little disappointing because there were only like 6 trucks (and none of our local faves?) but Remi loved seeing everyone. She also LOVED drinking from Grammy’s water bottle.

After the festival, we met up at the mall to play so Daddy could come inside and see us for a minute. The bigger kids at the mall LOVED her. They gathered around to ask 100 question- what’s her name? How old is she? Can she walk? Has she been here before?

They were so sweet to her, especially this group of little boys. They wanted to show her the ropes.

Once she warmed up a little bit (and the big boys showed her how to crawl through the tunnels), she went to town. She climbed up the slides and LOVED it. And I really was impressed at how nice the bigger kids were, being mindful of her and letting her play and waiting for her to leave an area. They totally weren’t bullies at all.

She loves a good tunnel.

Sunday she looked ADORABLE and loved seeing all her friends at church.

Before school one morning, we had a HUGE plumbing issue and I used basically every towel we own.  While I was dealing with that, she was a little bit on her own.  I lost my breath when I looked up and saw her.  She looked SO big. Like a big kid. The shoes, the skinny jeans, her standing up.  Just had to capture it.

She got to leave school early on Thursday to meet up with me, Aunt Bobby and Uncle Jerry for lunch.  They came in to see Dad and Mom, and so we all had lunch together.  She LOVED them and was just smiling and charming them. Silly girl.

She also has been socializing with the pups this week. Pretty sure she’s now saying “puh puh” for puppies. She loves to get in their beds in the mudroom. They were like “You can get out now!”

Week 54. 🙂

40 Week Highlights

40 Week Highlights

Where is the time going? This week had it’s highs and lows, but looking back at the memories, it was a good week overall.

Let’s start with this girl growing and developing SO FAST. She was attempting to stand up. Look at those straight legs! She’s crawling all over the place, so goodness help us when she walks!

She moved up to a “big girl” car seat. I was tired of carrying around the baby carrier and she was outgrowing it. So we moved on up.

Just a little mom and Remi selfie before school. Love this girl.

One morning I found Mikey in her room keeping her company between her waking up and going to get her (mom’s gotta turn on the coffee pot, yo).  He loves her, but mostly when she’s contained in her crib. ha!

We had two doctor’s visits this week. The first was an ear follow up and her 9 month well-child checkup. All is well with the 9 month visit, but turned out she had a double ear infection. You wouldn’t know it then because she was a peach. However, she developed a fever later in the week which sent us BACK to the doctor for a checkup.

I ended up wearing her to church on Sunday because we went to the early service. My first time wearing my new Tula. It has the sleepy carrier dust, too!

She looked adorable before church though! I can only get a good picture with her locked in her booster seat because she’s always on the move!

Trying to pull up…

LOVING bath time.

I went to Walmart on my own and left with this GIANT toy. I couldn’t resit. It looked like she would enjoy it. And she sure did!

So that was our week! Such fun with our girl!

Week 20 Highlights

Week 20 Highlights

Holy cow. 20 weeks.  Where is time going?!

This week was mostly spent snuggling and pushing medicine since Remi had an ear infection. Despite all of that, she was a pretty happy girl most of the time. You could tell when she felt miserable, she was trying so hard to play and be happy. Sweet thing.

Mikey got in on some tummy time. The dogs love her, and she’s really starting to pay attention to them. I love it. All of my babies together!

We had an afternoon where it was 80 degrees (yes, in February!) so we took out the fishing boat. Remi liked being on the water.  She didn’t love her life jacket, though.  And she wasn’t so sure when the fish got too close. ha!

But I think we have a water baby on our hands. She loved looking all around.

Me and my girl. I’m sure we will spend several days on the lake just like this over the summer.

At church on Wednesday, she slept during choir. Sweet girl. The choir members just eat her up.

Love this naked happy baby!

She LOVES tummy time. She is trying to scoot and grab toys. And of course, everything going in the mouth.

And just like that, she’s 20 weeks old! Here’s a fun comparison.  20 weeks in, 20 weeks out.

Week 3 Highlights

Week 3 Highlights

This time is zooming by. I’m not sure if it’s the lack of sleep (although Remi’s sleeping pretty great- only getting up 2-3 times in the night!) or just the emotions, hormones, and newness of it all- but I can’t believe we are finished with week 3!

Here are the random memories…

The dogs LOVE tummy time.  We put her on her blanket in the floor and they gather. Mikey doesn’t get too interested often, but he enjoys tummy time.

We had a day of doctor’s appointments, and she wore these ADORABLE overalls. It’s been unseasonably warm, so we were able to wear some of the summery clothes we were given- which is great!

Here’s Pip loving tummy time, too.

We went on our first family walk! You like the walk until you don’t! ha!  You HATE dirty and wet diapers, so if you get one while walking, you aren’t a happy camper until we get home. But you like the fresh air, and you LOVE uneven terrain. You’re happier being pushed on the gravel than the smooth road.

I got a little mommy time while Grammy watched you at Gerber Mother to Be Day. The local Gerber plant honors moms with a fun day full of educational stuff, giveaways, and entertainment (and a yummy lunch!).  It was fun! And we got LOTS of Gerber goodies for you!

Daddy went back to workand this was the site after his first day back. 🙂 Both of you napping together.

You got all dolled up before Taste of Fort Smith. I LOVE the glitzy clothes.image1

We went to a lunch fundraiser at Taste of Fort Smith. She slept the WHOLE TIME. It was marvelous. She’s a little fussy some days, so I wasn’t sure how this outing would go- but she did AWESOME and we got to try lots of yummy food from places around town.

So that was week 3!  One more week and you’ll be 4 weeks old!
