Week 20 Highlights

Week 20 Highlights

Holy cow. 20 weeks.  Where is time going?!

This week was mostly spent snuggling and pushing medicine since Remi had an ear infection. Despite all of that, she was a pretty happy girl most of the time. You could tell when she felt miserable, she was trying so hard to play and be happy. Sweet thing.

Mikey got in on some tummy time. The dogs love her, and she’s really starting to pay attention to them. I love it. All of my babies together!

We had an afternoon where it was 80 degrees (yes, in February!) so we took out the fishing boat. Remi liked being on the water.  She didn’t love her life jacket, though.  And she wasn’t so sure when the fish got too close. ha!

But I think we have a water baby on our hands. She loved looking all around.

Me and my girl. I’m sure we will spend several days on the lake just like this over the summer.

At church on Wednesday, she slept during choir. Sweet girl. The choir members just eat her up.

Love this naked happy baby!

She LOVES tummy time. She is trying to scoot and grab toys. And of course, everything going in the mouth.

And just like that, she’s 20 weeks old! Here’s a fun comparison.  20 weeks in, 20 weeks out.

Week 3 Highlights

Week 3 Highlights

This time is zooming by. I’m not sure if it’s the lack of sleep (although Remi’s sleeping pretty great- only getting up 2-3 times in the night!) or just the emotions, hormones, and newness of it all- but I can’t believe we are finished with week 3!

Here are the random memories…

The dogs LOVE tummy time.  We put her on her blanket in the floor and they gather. Mikey doesn’t get too interested often, but he enjoys tummy time.

We had a day of doctor’s appointments, and she wore these ADORABLE overalls. It’s been unseasonably warm, so we were able to wear some of the summery clothes we were given- which is great!

Here’s Pip loving tummy time, too.

We went on our first family walk! You like the walk until you don’t! ha!  You HATE dirty and wet diapers, so if you get one while walking, you aren’t a happy camper until we get home. But you like the fresh air, and you LOVE uneven terrain. You’re happier being pushed on the gravel than the smooth road.

I got a little mommy time while Grammy watched you at Gerber Mother to Be Day. The local Gerber plant honors moms with a fun day full of educational stuff, giveaways, and entertainment (and a yummy lunch!).  It was fun! And we got LOTS of Gerber goodies for you!

Daddy went back to workand this was the site after his first day back. 🙂 Both of you napping together.

You got all dolled up before Taste of Fort Smith. I LOVE the glitzy clothes.image1

We went to a lunch fundraiser at Taste of Fort Smith. She slept the WHOLE TIME. It was marvelous. She’s a little fussy some days, so I wasn’t sure how this outing would go- but she did AWESOME and we got to try lots of yummy food from places around town.

So that was week 3!  One more week and you’ll be 4 weeks old!

Meeting the Dogs

Meeting the Dogs

During the birth, my friend Rachel took care of the dogs…and then once the moms were back home, they stayed with my MIL.

But when it was time to come home, we wanted them to be there to meet their sister.

They are doing SO GOOD with her.

They have been interested, but gentle. Pippin loves getting close and sniffing her.

And they HATE when she cries. Sorry guys. Lots more where that came from.

Here is the moment we put her carrier in the floor and they saw her for the first time.

We let them sniff around…img_0352

And our night time rocking sessions are not alone. Pippin always follows me around with her. The protector.img_0359

The first time we put her in the cosleeper, Mikey slept in between her and me!

For the most part, we aren’t letting them in bed at night, just at nap time (they used to sleep on our bed) just because I don’t want to have to dodge them and Tyler when I get up.

But I see lots of playing in their future once she gets a little bigger!

Weekend Recap: Baby Waiting

Weekend Recap: Baby Waiting

We spent the weekend doing fun stuff waiting on Remington to make her appearance.

It started Friday after work when Tyler wanted to take the fishing boat down to Sugar Loaf lake (just about 20 minutes from our house). Since this is a public lake, we had to get fishing licenses. Which, let’s be honest, is hilarious that I now have a fishing license.

The moms went with us too. It was a BEAUTIFUL afternoon on the lake. We fished until dark. They caught a couple- I really think the moon phase and the cool air aren’t great for fishing. But it was fun.

Saturday, I spent the morning at home with the pups. They were in playful form- both playing side by side in their beds while I ate breakfast.

After some at home time, mom and I ran some errands. We picked up mums we had ordered from 4H, then we went to the fall festival. There were a ton of vendors and fun things going on at the park. I bought this ADORABLE owl! LOVE her!

We also went to a friend’s garage sale to pick up a piece of furniture I was buying. On my way back to mom’s that evening, I spotted 4 deer enjoying their dinners. They didn’t mind me at all!

Saturday evening, mom and I went to a LulaRoe party at a friend’s church. We both got some LulaRoe loot! Then we grabbed some dinner and went to Walmart to do some shoe shopping.  Believe me when I tell you Walmart has CUTE booties this season!

Sunday, we had church and then I did some cleaning at home (#nesting). That evening, we went to Painting with a Twist for a fundraiser for Susan G. Komen. Tyler’s cousin Kelsey is doing the 60 mile 3-day walk and was raising money. It was so fun!

However, Sunday evening we got a stress- dad had a bad day at the nursing home and they were trying to send him back to senior care (which he was just in like a week ago!).  Thankfully, we averted that crisis…but we have some issues to cover with the nursing home today. I’m thankful that (at least for now) we won’t have to shuffle back and forth between two hospitals for dad and me and that Remington didn’t come last night while mom and I were mentally exhausted.

Now we just wait for her!
