Meeting the Dogs

Meeting the Dogs

During the birth, my friend Rachel took care of the dogs…and then once the moms were back home, they stayed with my MIL.

But when it was time to come home, we wanted them to be there to meet their sister.

They are doing SO GOOD with her.

They have been interested, but gentle. Pippin loves getting close and sniffing her.

And they HATE when she cries. Sorry guys. Lots more where that came from.

Here is the moment we put her carrier in the floor and they saw her for the first time.

We let them sniff around…img_0352

And our night time rocking sessions are not alone. Pippin always follows me around with her. The protector.img_0359

The first time we put her in the cosleeper, Mikey slept in between her and me!

For the most part, we aren’t letting them in bed at night, just at nap time (they used to sleep on our bed) just because I don’t want to have to dodge them and Tyler when I get up.

But I see lots of playing in their future once she gets a little bigger!

Weekend Recap: Baby Waiting

Weekend Recap: Baby Waiting

We spent the weekend doing fun stuff waiting on Remington to make her appearance.

It started Friday after work when Tyler wanted to take the fishing boat down to Sugar Loaf lake (just about 20 minutes from our house). Since this is a public lake, we had to get fishing licenses. Which, let’s be honest, is hilarious that I now have a fishing license.

The moms went with us too. It was a BEAUTIFUL afternoon on the lake. We fished until dark. They caught a couple- I really think the moon phase and the cool air aren’t great for fishing. But it was fun.

Saturday, I spent the morning at home with the pups. They were in playful form- both playing side by side in their beds while I ate breakfast.

After some at home time, mom and I ran some errands. We picked up mums we had ordered from 4H, then we went to the fall festival. There were a ton of vendors and fun things going on at the park. I bought this ADORABLE owl! LOVE her!

We also went to a friend’s garage sale to pick up a piece of furniture I was buying. On my way back to mom’s that evening, I spotted 4 deer enjoying their dinners. They didn’t mind me at all!

Saturday evening, mom and I went to a LulaRoe party at a friend’s church. We both got some LulaRoe loot! Then we grabbed some dinner and went to Walmart to do some shoe shopping.  Believe me when I tell you Walmart has CUTE booties this season!

Sunday, we had church and then I did some cleaning at home (#nesting). That evening, we went to Painting with a Twist for a fundraiser for Susan G. Komen. Tyler’s cousin Kelsey is doing the 60 mile 3-day walk and was raising money. It was so fun!

However, Sunday evening we got a stress- dad had a bad day at the nursing home and they were trying to send him back to senior care (which he was just in like a week ago!).  Thankfully, we averted that crisis…but we have some issues to cover with the nursing home today. I’m thankful that (at least for now) we won’t have to shuffle back and forth between two hospitals for dad and me and that Remington didn’t come last night while mom and I were mentally exhausted.

Now we just wait for her!

Weekend Recap: Work Baby Shower and Nursery Time

Weekend Recap: Work Baby Shower and Nursery Time

What a great weekend! (I know I say that a lot, but it takes a lot of not-great to ruin two days with my people off of work!).

When I walked into work Friday, I saw this ADORABLE set up waiting for our work shower. I wish I had gotten a pic of the table covered in gifts, but I mean, how stinking cute is this carnival table?

My coworkers don’t do anything small. We are GO BIG people. So this baby shower was no exception. Following the carnival theme, we had homemade cotton candy. Mark was spinning it up!

We had a great lunch with fun carnival foods and then opened gifts. After working for 4 years with most of these people, they know me. Got lots of practical things, but also some sequined bows. 🙂

So thankful for them, and to have another group of people anxiously awaiting baby girl’s arrival!

Friday evening, we were hanging out in the nursery doing a few things, and the dogs were trying to claim their spot on the glider. I forsee a very full lap soon- baby and two dogs!

Saturday I took Pip to the vet (poor bear has an allergy and won’t leave his paws alone!) and then we hung out at home doing laundry and such.

Saturday night, I went and walked around the mall with Tyler as he patroled during overtime. It’s nice that he has a job where I can spend a little time with him.  I just have to understand that we can’t always talk (when he’s watching a situation closely) and that sometimes he has to go handle things…but it’s great to be together!

Sunday morning, Mikey rolled in SOMETHING that stunk. So he got a bath before church for sure! Ick!

We did church and then some family downtime. Much needed rest. I’m more tired every day!

Weekend Recap: Lots of Tyler Time and Puppy Snuggles

Weekend Recap: Lots of Tyler Time and Puppy Snuggles

This weekend was great. Just what I needed, especially after the shake-up last week of finding out I have gestational diabetes (more on that later).

Friday evening, Tyler and I did dinner and hung out at home. He was able to stay up a little later than normal because he took a few hours of overtime Saturday morning so he got to sleep in!

It was awesome to get to spend morningtime with him Saturday morning! We NEVER get to do that.

At some point Friday evening, Pippin and I were snuggling SO sweet. He’s the cuddliest pup.

Saturday, we had a great day. Mom and I just planned to do the farmer’s market and run around. It turned out that we ended up spending SO much time with Tyler as he worked.

We did the farmer’s market where I got a ton of produce. It’s all so fresh and cheap this time of year!

Then we had breakfast, got pedicures (hallelujah!) and headed to Brick City to shop. Tyler was in the neighborhood and came in for a minute to use their air conditioning and refill his water. Love spending time with my man in uniform!

We did a couple more errands and then met Tyler on his lunch break, then went a couple more places.

We ran home to drop off groceries, stopped and saw dad, then met Tyler for dinner in between his job and overtime job.

He was working overtime at the mall, so mom and I went to the mall after dinner to walk around with him (walking is great for my gestational diabetes, but it can be hot out…so the mall was the perfect solution!).

I got home in time to watch the gorgeous sunset!

We’ve been making Pippin sleep in the floor (before, he was on our bed every night) but it’s getting tougher to sleep through the night…so I kicked him out. I didn’t need HIM and ME waking me up all night.

We’ve been experimenting with beds for the dogs in our room to make sure they are comfy, and they decided to have a sleepover together Saturday night. ha!

Sunday was church time (worked in the nursery), then lunch and hanging out. We ended up at mom’s for dinner and some TV time. But not before Pippin snuggled with baby Remi!

How was your weekend, friends?
