Remi’s 3rd Birthday Party!

Remi’s 3rd Birthday Party!

We had Remi’s 3rd birthday party a little early (due to some family conflicts the weekends around her birthday). But it was PERFECTION.

We had it at a place nearby called Tiny Tumblers, and they did almost everything. They decorated according to our theme, had toys and tables set out, made goodie bags, and I just had to bring food.

We brought a cake (which, side story: Remi THE DAY I PICKED UP THE CAKE started saying she wanted the Paw Patrol “telescope” (aka periscope) on her cake, and she was disappointed that the tower/telescope wasn’t on her cake….so we had to go find a toy at Walmart to go on top to help with the disappointment. She wasn’t being bratty or anything, she legit said “I really wanted the telescope on my cake, mom. But it does have blue!” So I wanted to help. Super Zumba to the rescue!)

We also cut a big block of cheese into slices and then cut those into bones with a cookie cutter (from Amazon).

Plates and napkins from Oriental Trading, and the venue made water bottle labels.

I used dog bowls from the Dollar Tree to hold Cheetos and Scooby Snack graham cracker bones, and served fruit and corn dogs (baked frozen corndogs, held warm in my crockpot)

The room looked so cute! We set plates, napkins, forks and their bone cups (with added Paw Patrol stickers- both from Oriental Trading) at each kid’s spot.

IMG_5601

Some details from her decorations! I loved them (and loved that I didn’t have to do it!)

Up by the front gift table was this cute little photo area. Had to get one of the birthday girl! (Shirt from Amazon. What would I do without Amazon?!)

IMG_1993

I bought these felt Paw Patrol masks on Amazon and the kids sort of passed them around and would wear and then throw them down. ha! I wasn’t sure if these would be photo props or favors, but turns out that just playing with them was a hit. Remi loved the Ryder mask!

IMG_1977

Tiny Tumblers had 4 different play areas- and we had it all to ourselves! Remi and Wyatt are great buds at school, and they loved the ball pit!

IMG_1966

Lots of slides, a bouncy house, ride ons, and more fun all around. (for our memory book, that’s Grace and Levi in this pic, and Wyatt in the back)

IMG_1967

There was also gymnastics equipment to play on! (Connor and Wyatt watching close)

IMG_1983

So many exciting things to jump on! (with Amelia and Tristan)

IMG_5605

This big horse was a hit! James loved it!

IMG_1982

About 50 minutes in, we gathered the kids for snacks. (Avery, Grace, Remi, Wyatt, Levi and James)

IMG_1987

Our other table of friends- Tristan, Avery, Connor and Amelia!

IMG_1985

Remi was having a blast. Mask, sunglasses (also a favor), and a corndog.

IMG_1984

We did cake and she was THE CUTEST and the most excited when we sang to her!

IMG_5614

Then we played more! There was a room with kitchen stuff, baby doll stuff and a play house.

IMG_1972

We opened presents (while most of the kids played) and Levi was very interested in helping. 🙂 She got a ton of Paw Patrol toys, some Play Doh toys and games, and loved them all.

IMG_2151

The pogo stick from Nene was a hit with all the kids.

IMG_5617

She had to be persuaded, but we took a few pics with friends.

Sweet Wyatt…

And we had to grab one with baby cousin Hattie!

The mommas got in on the fun – me and Alden loved the masks!

And with Mimi!

And our birthday girl (before she was begging to go back and play! ha!)

IMG_2152

When we got home, she dove into her gifts after nap. She loved her new Paw Patrol watch and was speaking to it like she was Ryder “To the lookout tower pups!”

And she kept wearing masks and playing all evening.

I can’t believe she’s 3! Where does time go?!

Partying It Up!

Partying It Up!

One of our sweet church friends had a birthday party- and we had a blast!

I went to college with Trinka, his momma. We spent one year on the same hall, and now they live in our town and Remi and her littlest are the same age!

Remi was THRILLED when we arrived to see their big trampoline. (I’ll be honest, this nervous Nelly momma was a little anxious about her jumping with big kids, but she did well)

IMG_1300

It was a dino party, and this ThreeRex sign was THE CUTEST.  Trinka throws the cutest parties!

IMG_1301

One of my dearest friends is marrying into their family, so we got to visit at the party! She is due ANY DAY NOW with a precious baby boy! I can’t wait for her to be a momma!

IMG_1302

Remi loved the dino masks (blue, of course!)

IMG_1303

And then they all played with the dinos (which Trinka had put tiny party hats on! SO cute!)

IMG_1304

This is the best pic I could get of the busy birthday boy, Nash and Remi. They had opened his new bug catching kit!

Partying with friends is so much fun….and it just makes me more excited for Remi’s birthday coming up!

Sesame Street Second Birthday

Sesame Street Second Birthday

I always love recapping the details of a party because I find other’s posts online SO HELPFUL when looking for ideas.  I mean, this party is far from “Pinterest worthy” but it was fun and (I think) looked cute!

I had initially bought these banners to hang, but we were not allowed to attach anything to the walls or ceilings, so I mounted them on cardboard and we propped them up against the walls.

We served food- in this picture: hot dogs (Mr. Hooper’s Hot Dogs), goldfish (Dorothy’s goldfish), and pasta salad (Mr. Noodle’s pasta salad).  You can also kind of see the ducky straw cups I got from Oriental Trading.  They were a hit with the kids and adults alike.

We have favors that were finger paint pouches and sunglasses.  The tag said: This party was brought to you by the letter R and the number 2! Hope you had fun! Thank you for coming!

I made Rubber Ducky Punch- blue raspberry Hawaiian punch and Sprite topped with marshmallows for the bubbles!

I took a plastic pumpkin from Michael’s and sprayed it with primer and blue spray paint…glued on styrofoam balls and black paper circles and we had a Cookie Monster!  The kids loved grabbing cookies out of his mouth.

I made Monster fruit, veggie and cheese trays.  They were a little prettier before the drive to town…

I made Bert out of pineapple, blackberries and a clementine.  His eyes are yogurt and blueberries

Big Bird was cheese cubes, carrots and ranch with olives for eyes.

And Elmo was strawberries, a clementine and blueberries with yogurt and blueberry eyes.  (his blueberries got a little crazy on the drive!)

This was our fun display!  I got the personalized sign from Zulily months ago.   The paper cut outs on sticks were from Etsy.

I had this banner made from Vistaprint and it was perfect for our cupcakes.  We just did rainbow cupcakes with Sesame Street picks I found on Amazon.

These paper lanterns were meant to be hung, but we couldn’t hang anything in our room.  So I cut off the strings and glued them to a piece of plastic for the base.

And the felt balls were from Jane.com months ago. Again, I wanted to hang them, but couldn’t, so they made cute table decorations.

This was our entire set up.  The red bucket is full of water bottles on ice.

The gifts went on the same table as the favors and I moved a chair over there for Remi to open gifts.

It was so fun and perfect for our sweet two year old!

Weekend Recap: Church Baby Shower

Weekend Recap: Church Baby Shower

We had another great weekend- but this one was mostly focused on baby girl. Friday night we spent some time together and then Saturday we headed to the hospital for the birth class.

I’ll be honest, it was a bit of a waste of time and SUPER traumatic (I didn’t need to see the ultra-graphic C-section video!!!)….but whatever. We did it.

Saturday evening, Tyler worked overtime and I hung out with my friend Rachel. It was great to catch up and visit.

Sunday was the big exclamation point on the weekend- my final baby shower! This was a church shower hosted by my life group and several other sweet ladies.

It was wonderful.

It was the biggest shower I’ve had simply because there were so many people invited.

They did a sweet job of keeping food diabetic friendly- in fact, there was no cake! 🙂

It was a mix of cute circus decor and sweet baby girl pink. LOVE.

The food and decor table in the back….

Rachel made such a cute wrap for the sign in podium. I ADORE that elephant fabric!

My friend Christina made a fruit baby! How cute is that?  And the animal crackers and peanuts? I died.

They also made me a punch alternative with some fruit infused water. Yum!

The veggies took on a cute flower shape…

And they used this ferris wheel to hold sliced veggies!

This wasn’t all the hostesses (some had already left and a couple couldn’t be there) SO thankful for these ladies in my life!

The gifts were SO fun. It was hilarious to see what people gave me based on MY personality- lots of animal print, ruffles, and ADORABLE shoes.

In fact, one of my friends moms told me she wasn’t giving me anything practical. And I DIED when I saw these Michael Kors baby sneakers in the bottom of her gift bag. Y’all.  They are gold and white. And perfection.

The room kept “awe…..”ing at everything cute I pulled out.  I’m SO grateful for the practical gifts (bath stuff, diapers, pacifiers) but we got some amazing things. A handmade quilt, a handmade gorgeous stroller blanket, TONS of clothes, a sweet cross to hang in her room….so many thoughtful things.

I also had lots of helpers. Rachel took care of moving the opened gifts and trash, Amy took notes, and sweet Aubrey helped us bring gifts from the table.

I’m in awe of the community I have. Women who are already cheering me on toward motherhood. Celebrating and praying for this sweet baby. It’s such a blessing that I never want to take for granted.

I hope you had a great weekend as well!
