The rest of Christmas break

The rest of Christmas break

I was off work a few extra days for Christmas, which was pure heaven. No alarms (well, other than Remi when she woke up! ha!), no big plans, and lots of fun.

Remi and I got to spend some extra time together.  She wore her ADORABLE outfit, which I wanted to document.  Our sweet friend Suzie MADE this sweet dress and bow.

That afternoon, Remi woke up early into her nap and was pretty upset, which is very unusual on all accounts.  I brought her into our bedroom and laid down with her (which we never do- she is such a great independent sleeper). But she fell asleep and I got to snuggle my girl- which was an AMAZING treat.

I won this ball at an arcade while at my work team building day and she LOVED it.  “Bah! Bah!”  We love to roll it back and forth.

More sled riding.  I captioned this “Pull me, peasant!” on Instagram….and it’s so true.

She was playing and I was sitting in the glider watching.  Pippin jumped into my lap.  A few minutes later, she climbed up on top of Pippin to lay in my lap. Silly girl!

We spent New Year’s Eve eating with our family. I loved her in her jacket and hat! (Side note: Daddy had a wreck New Year’s Eve morning on his way to work.  There was some ice overnight and he slid on a bridge leaving our little town. He ended up flipping his truck on it’s side and hitting a telephone pole…but somehow, thank God, he’s ok.  We spent the day at home letting him rest and recover.)

Before the food came, everybody got some Remi time.

New Year’s Day we went and played with our cousins. Remi LOVES them.

We also went to the mall for Dillard’s Sale because it’s tradition. ha!  We had a great break.

Social Butterfly

Social Butterfly

She had no choice but to be personable.  If you know me or her daddy, we talk to everyone. We make friends easily. It’s in her blood.

She had a very social week.

First, she was talking to the baby she found in the mirror. ha!

We went to the 1st annual Food Truck Festival on Saturday. The actual festival was a little disappointing because there were only like 6 trucks (and none of our local faves?) but Remi loved seeing everyone. She also LOVED drinking from Grammy’s water bottle.

After the festival, we met up at the mall to play so Daddy could come inside and see us for a minute. The bigger kids at the mall LOVED her. They gathered around to ask 100 question- what’s her name? How old is she? Can she walk? Has she been here before?

They were so sweet to her, especially this group of little boys. They wanted to show her the ropes.

Once she warmed up a little bit (and the big boys showed her how to crawl through the tunnels), she went to town. She climbed up the slides and LOVED it. And I really was impressed at how nice the bigger kids were, being mindful of her and letting her play and waiting for her to leave an area. They totally weren’t bullies at all.

She loves a good tunnel.

Sunday she looked ADORABLE and loved seeing all her friends at church.

Before school one morning, we had a HUGE plumbing issue and I used basically every towel we own.  While I was dealing with that, she was a little bit on her own.  I lost my breath when I looked up and saw her.  She looked SO big. Like a big kid. The shoes, the skinny jeans, her standing up.  Just had to capture it.

She got to leave school early on Thursday to meet up with me, Aunt Bobby and Uncle Jerry for lunch.  They came in to see Dad and Mom, and so we all had lunch together.  She LOVED them and was just smiling and charming them. Silly girl.

She also has been socializing with the pups this week. Pretty sure she’s now saying “puh puh” for puppies. She loves to get in their beds in the mudroom. They were like “You can get out now!”

Week 54. 🙂

Week 48 Highlights

Week 48 Highlights

This week was a little harder than most because I was gone for a work trip for 3 nights. Remi did great with daddy and the grandmas, but it was hard on momma being so far away!

Before I left, we had a fun weekend! We went to the lake to swim with our women’s ministry!

Me and my water bug.

The water was a little cool, but she still loved it!

We all had a picnic lunch together, and everyone loved her little camping chair. ha!

Of course, we took some silly pics to send to daddy one morning…

And before church on Sunday, I tried to get pics of this active girl!  Look at that balance!

I finally had to hold her to get a pic. So silly!

I loved her and Pippin playing together. They are gonna be the best of friends!

She gave daddy BIG smiles at dinner one night.

And then I left town, but everyone kept the pics coming.  She spent one night with Gigi and enjoyed breakfast at the big table.

My silly girl.

Daddy sent me this pic one morning.  I kindly reminded him to brush her hair and put pants on her. ha!

She’s so wide eyed and wonderful. Love.

Picking her up at school Friday was the best. She was SO EXCITED to see momma. I am glad to be home!

Week 46 Highlights

Week 46 Highlights

This week felt like it zoomed by! We had a few extra things that kept us busy (family dinner, new church routine) but we still had lots of fun together. I know I say that a lot. We do have fun. We are so blessed to have this girl’s sweet smile every day. There are hard days, like Saturday. Friday night she was up for half the night. I don’t know why. She wasn’t sick. Saturday we were both tired and a little cranky, so it’s a good thing she looked cute.

That Peter Pan collar killed me. Adorable.  She took a good morning nap (I tried, but dogs and doorbells kept me awake) and then we ran some errands in town.

We added some ankle weights to her push walker (at the recommendation of my amazing friend Amber, who is a pediatric PT) and she does great pushing it!

Sunday was a much better day. Thankfully, she (and me!) slept great Saturday night. So we got lots of morning smiles Sunday morning.

We got her ready for church and then she napped while I got ready. Love this little tree frog!

I will be sad next year when she grows out of the romper style.  This is my favorite brand, Ric Rac and Ruffles and I wish I had money to buy every outfit! They are so cute!

This is another RRR that I bought months ago that finally fit. It’s a 18m (but this style fits smaller!- she’s usually in 9-12 stuff now) but she looked SO BIG in this outfit!

One evening, she was fussing since it was bedtime (girl lets us know when she’s ready to sleep. She hardly ever fusses until she’s tired) and as soon as I got the camera out to capture her snuggling with daddy, she started being a ham. So crazy!

She had her first spaghetti dinner (ok, they were spirals, but still…noodles and red sauce)

One morning before school, she and Pippin played.  She grabbed his toy and played with him.  They have been buds, but this was the first play interaction I’ve seen. It was adorable!

We had some Friday selfies before work and school to send Daddy a pic. Silly girl!

That week’s a wrap! On to more fun and learning and growing!
