Friday Five: Five Fun Things

Friday Five: Five Fun Things

This week (thankfully) has gone by pretty quickly. I’m ready for a three day weekend! Can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow, do some crafting, cleaning, and resting!

Here’s five fun things from this week:

  1. My sweet friend Holly sent me flowers on Wednesday.  Tuesday was rough- when I had the migraine- and she sent these as a “have a better day” pick me up. So sweet!

2. This morning I was up early…so I took advantage of the fresh blueberries in the fridge and made my coworkers breakfast! It’s the Blueberry Buckle from Foodie Crush.

3. I was at Hobby Lobby and found some fleece that I like/that goes with our nursery (PS. girly stuff that’s NOT pink/purple is hard to find!).  Mom is going to make Remi a tie blanket with this. It’s SO cute!

4. This shirt keeps popping up on my FB.  Sorry for the pic of the computer screen…but it says “You can’t fix stupid, but my husband can give it a court date” hahahahaha

5. These behind the scenes videos from of the Tony Awards prep are MY LIFE at the moment.  Since I made 2 New York trips this year and saw 8 musicals on Broadway, I’m living and breathing the Tony Awards this year.  They are usually my birthday weekend, but this year they aren’t until June 12.  2 weeks, people!

So that’s it for this week.  Just ready for a nice, long weekend.  What’s going on with you?

Friday Five: This Week’s Highlights

Friday Five: This Week’s Highlights

It’s been an exciting week.

  1. The Tony Award nominations were Tuesday. It’s like my Super Bowl. Of course, Hamilton swept with a record breaking 16 nominations. But other shows that I love got nominated as well. Looking forward to the Tony Awards in June!

2. My dogs have been extra snuggly. Monday morning Pippin and I had a GREAT sweet snuggle session (where he NEVER ONCE TRIED TO LICK ME) and yesterday morning Mikey crawled onto our bed and walked right up and laid on my belly. I think they can tell changes are happening to their momma.

3. Today I’m buying me, mom, Alden, and Haley DIXIE CHICKS TICKETS!  They had a summer tour, but the dates didn’t work out for me. I was bummed. Then they expanded their tour and they’re coming to Little Rock!  Woop!

4. Yesterday I ate Mexican food twice for Cinco de Mayo.  Always a good day.

5. My sweet friend Kenley sent me my very first Mother’s Day card. And I cried. Thoughtful friends are a gift, ya’ll.

What were some of your highlights this week?

Week/Weekend Recap

Week/Weekend Recap

This is a recap of last week and last weekend. I’m behind on blogging. Life got busy. For the last day and a half I’ve been out of town with mom and dad since dad was having another eye surgery.

So let’s play catch up, shall we?

Last week on Wednesday, mom and I had tickets to see The Bridges of Madison County at the Walton Arts Center.

We stopped at our favorite Fayetteville spot before the show- Tacos 4 Life! The food is AMAZING and the mission is great. Every taco provides food for a child across the food.
At work, we also had a gender pool going. Spoiler alert for the coming Gender Reveal post- It’s a Girl!  Baby GIRL is on her way!

This gender pool was funny though because several people saw it on Instagram and thought it was name suggestions.  The stars threw people off. The stars were a little side bet some of my coworkers had going. However, people thought they were our prospective names. Even my cousin annouced, “If it’s a girl it will be Devin, if it’s a boy, it’s Lyndsay.” ha!

My sweet MIL sent me blue and pink flowers before our gender scan. Having them on my desk to brighten my day is wonderful.

So that was the highlights. Next up…the 17 week update and gender reveal party!

Friday Five: Weekly Update

Friday Five: Weekly Update

Hi friends! I hope you’ve had a good week. We have! The weather is turning beautiful with sunshine and warmer days. I can’t wait to go for a walk tonight after work.

Here are 5 fun things from this week:

  1. Wednesday night while I was at church I got a Facebook message from my friend Rachael, who lives in Cambodia.  She said “I have the urge to talk to you, are you free?” And so we Skpyed when I got home from church. Seeing and talking to her was a BIG blessing!
  2. Monday I went to see Dad at the nursing home after work.  He hasn’t been eating a ton, so I figured I would take him his fave – a hamburger. He gobbled it up and kept making “MMMM” noises. SO funny.
  3. A coworker made her sausage wontons and brought them to work today. They are SO good.  I was craving them last weekend (but didn’t make them because I didn’t need to eat the whole batch) and without knowing that, she surprised us with them today!  Every recipe I found online was too complicated. Her’s are not.  1 tube sausage (breakfast sausage) drained, 1 block cream cheese mixed together.  Scoop that into wonton wrapped that have been placed in a muffin tin.  Then you top with shredded cheese and bake until crispy. YUM.
  4. I stepped into a soft spot on our deck one morning and my foot went through. Way to make the pregnant lady feel like she’s 500 lbs. ha!

  5.  I got a GREAT deal on a stroller/car seat. I’ve been researching and had narrowed it down to a couple I liked (this to say we haven’t looked in person a ton yet) but there was a deal online for almost $150 off one of the combos we were considering.  So I jumped on it and bought it.  Yay for saving!
