Week 13 Highlights

Week 13 Highlights

Sweet girl, another week has come and gone. And such fun we’re having!

She looked THE CUTEST last Sunday at church in this romper. I died.

I was back to work full time in the office, so Mom kept her a couple of days. Gavin was in visiting, so he was there to help. He was teaching her all about tummy time! ha! He may have fallen asleep playing with her in the floor. img_1580

She’s found her hands in full force. Always chomping on them.img_1564

The few days she was at home with Tyler, I get sweet pics like this. img_1582

Coming home and hanging with my girl is the new highlight of my day. Rocking her to sleep is even sweeter now. img_1579

We had Remi’s first snow! I had to go into work, but when I got home, we went outside for a minute.  She felt the snow and LOVED the marshmallow world. img_1616

She’s doing SO good holding onto toys. These little disc rattles are a fave.img_1601

Look at this snow monkey! So happy out in the crisp air!img_1613

I can’t believe we are 13 weeks into her little life! We are having so much fun!

Week 12 Highlights

A busy week with this little girl. She’s becoming so FUN. Takes everything in, responds to everything, and is just fun to be with.

We spent Friday (a day both Tyler and I had off work) in Tulsa together.  We did some shopping, eating and saw some family.

While we were shopping, we noticed her eyelid was SUPER red (this picture doesn’t do it justice). It’s happened a couple of other times before, but I documented it this time.

The next morning, it was super watery. I called the nurse- likely clogged tear duct. No big deal, but I have to rub her little eye with a warm cloth daily until it goes away.

She slept while we shopped around Tulsa. So sweet.

When she was awake, Tyler gave her a break from the car seat by carrying her around. He got this “Princess Protection” shirt for Christmas. Love it!

She’s becoming a champ at grabbing and holding onto toys. Her fave at the moment is this little rattle that we think looks like a phone. She will take calls on it.  We shake it and put it to her face- and she talks into it. So funny!

And just like that, she’s 12 weeks old! So much fun with this little one!

Week 11 Highlights

Week 11 Highlights

This week was such a joy. Our Wonder Weeks app says she should be fussy for a developmental leap right about now…but I sort of think it’s already stuff she’s mastered (according to the goals in the book) so she isn’t being crazy at all.

Instead, we got to do some fun stuff together!

I decided to go for a Christmas Eve pedicure! I met Tyler in town for lunch and my nail salon was open….she lasted for about 5 minutes in the car seat, but I was able to hold her while she fell asleep for the rest of it. It was still wonderful!

We had Tyler’s family Christmas a few days early. LOTS of fun eating, playing games, and being snuggled. Well, Remi was snuggled. It would be weird if I was.

We went to the Christmas party at the nursing home. Dad just LAUGHED AND LAUGHED when she would fuss and say stuff like “Cut that out or I’ll beat your butt!”

We had my family Christmas in Hot Springs, and the little booger started grasping toys there! They got her this awesome teether/rattle and she loved it and held onto it.

This picture with Caitlyn was the only one I got.  The two family princesses. 🙂

A fun week of celebrations, indeed!

Week 10 Highlights

Week 10 Highlights

I spent this week really savoring our time together. I went back to work on Friday, and while I knew this time together like this was short, the end snuck up on me. I spent some extra time just breathing her in.

We had some BIG things happen this week!

She figured out how to roll belly to back! It’s early for this skill, but she’s definitely learned it and didn’t just flop over. She did it three times that first day and has done it several times since then!

She has been SO sweet and happy. (Our Wonder Weeks book said this is a sunny couple of weeks!). I’ve just loved this smiley, happy girl!

We tried out the baby neck float. She LOVED it. It’s crazy to see how instinctual swimming is! Someone was SUPER RUDE online telling me I was a terrible parent for “doing this to her” but my friend is a pediatric physical therapist and said it’s GREAT for their development and will make her an easy swimmer later. So there, rude Internet lady. Why can’t people let you raise your kids in peace?

One day it was SUPER warm. Like 55 degrees in mid-December. So I was brave and loaded up BOTH dogs and Remington to go walk at the park. We got a couple miles in- and she slept the whole time in the Ergo.

Last Sunday we had our annual cookie swap Christmas party with our friends. This little Santa baby was ready to party! She did GREAT at church and the party.

Like I said, super happy baby all week! A good week together.

On Friday, mom had surgery on her arm (sort of like carpel tunnel on her elbow). We kept her company during the days over the weekend, and we got it all propped up so she could have some Remi love even though she can’t really hold her. It was the best medicine for her.

Well, that’s the end of week 10! She’s now 10 weeks old!
