Updated Zumba Licenses

My Zumba profile is looking mighty full these days.  Just look at all these icons!

Let’s see, from left to right…

  1. Basic (the training that made me an instructor)
  2. Basic 2 (which taught me more rhythms)
  3. Toning
  4. Kids/Kids Jr (the new children’s program replacing Zumbatomic.  I had to take an online course for this license)
  5. Zumbatomic (which was the old Zumba for kids program)
  6. Pro Skills (which I took at convention- teaching me how to be an even better instructor)
  7. Core (and online course with info focusing on the core)
  8. Zumba affiliate (which means I have a discount code to hand out for Zumbawear! Code: BLEE1)
  9. Convention ’13 (showing I attended convention this year!)

I’m a busy little beaver when it comes to Zumba!

Zumba Convention Day 4

Zumba Convention Day 4

Sunday a few of us got ready early to have a little Zumba photo shoot.  We are in Zumba clothes many days a week…but we hardly look good doing it….These are some of my pics.
Then we headed to our first class. I had Dancing Through the Decades which I LOVED.  Kass Martin is a great teacher.
And the BEST thing happened….Beto dropped in our class. He did a couple dances with us and it was SO fun.
My last class was Rock and Roll Revolution with Shemane Nugent (Ted Nugent’s wife).  It was TOTALLY out of my element and I ended up watching the second half of the class because I knew it wasn’t anything I would be comfortable teaching…I’m just not “rock and roll.”  I’m more Broadway Baby. 🙂
As soon as the classes were over, we changed clothes, and headed to the airport.  We got home late Sunday night.  Convention was a BLAST and I’m so glad I got to go.

Zumba Convention Day 3

Zumba Convention Day 3

Day 3 was a day where I had to push past the tired.  I wasn’t totally feeling my choices for the day (mostly because they were intense and I was tired….) until I saw Sheila in my toning master class.  We got by each other and I was glad because there were a couple partner songs…and they are much better when you know your partner. 🙂
After the class, we took a picture with our FIERCE teacher, Jani Roberts.
Next, I had Zumba Core. It was a good class and I got some great ideas.
After Core, I was eating lunch and talking to Tyler on the phone, telling him I thought I might just sit and watch my last class.  I was tired.  Well, my last class was Zumba Warrior, again with Jani Roberts from above.  It was a demo class for her new concept of a mix between Zumba, martial arts, and boot camp.  And I did it.  And I gave my absolute all. AND I LOVED IT.  It literally changed the way I think about fitness.  I hope they make it a Zumba speciality soon.
We got ready for the party that evening…and we stopped to take a picture with some ZES.
Then Lauren and I slipped on our costumes!  We were unicorns.  Everyone thought we were adorable.  We took lots of pic that night. 🙂
My favorites were the Lollipop guild!
This was our River Valley crew!
The band was a girl from the Voice.  I don’t know her name but she was great.
And then this guy came out.  All the Spanish speakers went NUTS. Taking pictures, videos, crying.  We asked who it was and they said “Marc Anthony!” so I took some pictures.  Turns out, it was a Marc Anthony impersonator! ha! He had them all fooled!
We didn’t get back to the room until like midnight.  We party hard, kids. 🙂

Zumba Convention Day 2

Zumba Convention Day 2

Day 2 started with my video testimonial shoot bright and early!  I had to be “camera ready” at 7 am, so I was up early getting purdy.
It went well, I think.  They weren’t in love with my outfits, but they had to deal with it.  I did some on-camera interview, did some dancing (awkward in a room of people watching you), and then took some “after” photos. I would LOVE to see those.
The set was inside a banquet room.
And this is what I looked like after their makeup lady dolled me up.
I was finished just in time to grab some breakfast and head to the Hilton for Zumba Pro Skills training.  This was an all-day training delving deeper into being a better Zumba instructor.  I LOVED it.  I also LOVED our ZES (Zumba Education Specialist) crew.  I fell in love with the main guy (in the middle) Steve Boedt. And (second from the left) was Donna Gifften, from Scotland.  I’ve been a fan of her’s from Youtube, so I was SO excited to spend all day with her. They were great.
I was in training all day from 9-6 (with an hour for lunch where I managed to get into the outlet store with no wait!).  When I finished, we all showered and went to dinner.
We walked a ways away to an Irish Pub.
This was our little local group. Sheila, me, Lauren, Maureen, Tina, Heather, Vicki, and Mary.
Sheila and I both got wine flights (a sampler) and it came on this neat wine glass tree!
Then Jenny (another local friend) joined us.  This was all 9 of us from the River Valley area.
We walked back home and crashed.  They had a Sean Paul concert and fashion show that night, but we opted for dinner and rest.  It was a good call.
