Friday Confessions

I’m joining in with A Blonde Ambition for my Friday Confessions.

  • I confess that I am so excited that our local Papa Murphy’s gave away free pizza coupons for their first anniversary! They had a Cool Deal (the local version of Groupon) for 1000 free pizzas, and I snagged one.  It is good through November, so we have plenty of time to use it.
  • I confess I’m hating Jillian Michaels.  I mean, I love that she is making my body change.  I am just over halfway through the 30 Day Shred, and I’ve lost 5 pounds and I can feel my muscles getting stronger (and I’m sure they are shrinking…I’ll measure at the end of the month).  But I really dislike waking up at 4:30 to meet with Jillian.
  • I confess that my reading through the Bible is getting a little boring. I’m in Exodus and I have been reading the directions for building the Ark of the Covenant.  Lots of measurements and descriptions.  I am trying to apply it (thinking about how God is detailed, and how thankful I am that we don’t have to enter the Holy of Holies to talk wtih God…that He is everywhere now.  But since I’m struggling reading through it, I’m letting my app read it to me! I LOVE this part of the app! Just press play and read along.  The dramatic reading makes the boring stuff a little more easy to get through.
  • I confess that I cried at my desk at work yesterday when I read that Emily was pregnant!  YAY Emily, Stephen, Louie, and Baby D!
  • I confess that I was SUPER stoked when Zumba announced they screwed up the convention dates and I could go to Zumba convention next year.  Orlando, here I come! Check out the video from this year’s convention that just wrapped up.  SO fun!

  • I confess that I went to Charming Charlie’s after work Wednesday to buy myself my 15 pound weight loss reward.  And I may have bought 4 rewards and spent $92.  Oops.  At least I got cute stuff (1 top, 1 sweater, 1 pair of shoes, 1 hat).
  • I confess that I absolutely freaking love my husband.  Wednesday evening we were being so goofy and laughing so much.  We have the best time together.  He looked at me and said, “I doubt that anyone has as much fun together as we do.” I agree! We are doing date night tonight for sushi, and then hopefully meeting our friends Brooke and Warren’s new baby Parker.  He is just days old!
  • I confess I have no real plans for the weekend other than helping sell tickets for a women’s event at church on Sunday.  Looking forward to a weekend full of whatever I want.  I LOVE no agenda sometimes.

Anything you need to confess today?  Have a great weekend!

Friday Confessions

This week has been good, bad and ugly.
The good:
-Got some stuff done around the house (read: finally no stack of laundry waiting to be put away….a clean sink…dust free furniture!)
-Made some yummy dinners! (crock pot faux-tato soup with cauliflower, crockpot lasagna, and some yummy spiffed up Hamburger Helper!)
The bad:
-Feeling soooo tired and not feeling on top my game with my memory.  I am so forgetful lately.  I forgot to pay our house payment (luckily I remembered before it was past due!), forgot to pack lunches for us a couple days, forgot my shoes for Zumba last week….  And its all I can do to stay awake once I get home.  Doesn’t matter what kind of day I had, I am exhausted feeling all day.  This tiredness has (unfortunately) resulted in extra snacking to keep me awake and I am afraid the diet has blown by this week.
-Tuesday, I did go to the doctor to be checked out for the fatigue and anxiety/slushed up memory.  No word yet on the results.
The ugly:
-The doctor wasn’t super hopeful about a couple things.  First, I thought it might be my thyroid (it runs in my family to have hypothyroidism which would explain all my symptoms) but he didn’t think so.  He WAS concerned that I might have Diabetes because I told him my energy picks up after eating.  Hmm…guess the tests will give us answers.
-The uglier:
-As I was telling a few friends (coworkers, Zumba ladies, etc) about my fatigue, they all jumped to one conclusion: pregnancy.  I got so freaked out about the possibility of that (we are NOT ready for kids yet) that I got a test on the way home Tuesday night after Zumba.  I got a box of 2 (thank goodness!).  I guess I did the first one wrong (who knew you could pee on a stick “wrong?”)  but no lines showed up.  We were eating dinner and I just wanted to know that I wasn’t pregnant! So during dinner, I went and took the second test and in moments, only one line showed up.  Whew!  Thank the Lord that His timing is on with ours (at this moment).
So….this week, I have eaten (and eaten some more), napped on the couch (a continuation from the last few weeks of being so stinking tired all the time), forgotten lots of important stuff (note to self: your anniversary is Tuesday…don’t forget that!), and been to the doctor where I was overwhelmed with the possibility of illness and then pregnancy.  Whew what a week!
Today is my last day at my job.  Then tonight mom and I are going to see “In the Heights” at the Walton Arts Center.  And I will hopefully chill and get more stuff done around the house this weekend!
I start my new job Monday, our anniversary is Tuesday, Wednesday I start a new Zumba class, and then next weekend we go on a little anniversary trip!  Busy week ahead!  Hope they figure out if anything is wrong with me so we can treat it!  I am ready to feel like myself again!
