Friday Five and a Little More About Me

I’m linking up with the Good Life Blog for Friday Five…and with A Blonde Ambition for Getting to Know You More!

1. Tyler bought me tickets to see Bruno Mars for my birthday.  (Well, ok…I actually purchased the tickets because Ticketmaster freaks him out…but he paid for them!).  The show is the night before my birthday in June.  Can’t wait.

2. Tyler grandpa had a pacemaker put in yesterday.  He’s doing well….but if you would, just say a prayer for continual (fast) healing. He’s not great at resting and being still….so he needs some down time.

3. I’ve been wanting to stencil a wall in our guest bathroom for a while…and yesterday Groop Dealz had a stencil on sale…so I bought it!  I hope when it comes in I can convince Tyler to do it. It’s a tiny wall, so it shouldn’t be too bad…This is the stencil I bought.  I want to do a dark grey over the white that’s in the bathroom.

4. We always watch the Olympic opening ceremonies and eat an “international” meal (like last Olympics I picked up Chinese and Thai food….but this year Tyler wants Italian.  So it’s Olive Garden to go tonight! 🙂

5.  My friend Rachael is a missionary in Cambodia.  I would LOVE for you to donate to her.  Her phone was stolen (thank God she’s ok!), but it’s her lifeline back home.  If you could even Paypal her $5, it would help her buy a new phone.

You can send money via Paypal to rachaelallen7@gmail.com or give through World Outreach.

Now for Getting to Know You More!!

1. What’s your middle name? Deanne.  It’s a part of my email, IG and Twitter handle.

2. If you could live anywhere else in the world where would you live? For me, Nashville, TN. I love that town.  But since I like Tyler more…I guess I’ll stay put since he hates city life.

3. Tell us about your guilty pleasures. Wine, a Mob Wife (orange juice, coconut rum, amaretto, and grenadine), bubble baths, binge watching TV shows that I’ve seen a million times (like marathons of America’s Next Top Model).

4. What do you like best about your job? If you weren’t doing that, what career would you have pursued? I like the low stress factor (most of the time). I write, so we do have deadlines and performance goals…but I’m able to leave work at work.  I enjoy my coworkers a ton, too.  They are great people.

5. Five items you’d grab during a fire. (People and pets don’t count. Those are a given.).  Our wedding photo disc, my box of Hanson CDs and books (don’t judge me!), our wedding platter guest book, our jar of sand from the wedding, and probably my Fiesta cookie jar.

6. Marathon running…something you’d like to pursue or just plain crazy?.  Full Marathons?  Crazy for me. I can see why some people want to accomplish that, but I have no desire.

7. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Mexican food.  Preferably from Patron here in town.  They have the best queso (with chorizo added in!), delish salsa, and my favorite Mexican Lasagna.

8. Last person you spoke to…annnnnd….go! Spoke to?  My mom on the phone last night.

9. Favorite childhood toy- Barbies.  Hands down.

10. Breakfast cereal of choice.  Fruity pebbles with coconut milk.  Or Honey Graham O’s.  And now I’m hungry…

Happy weekend, friends!

Comments

  1. We’re headed to Nashville for the first time over spring break to visit family. Do you have any suggestions on things to do and places to eat? We have two kiddos 2 and 8. Anything they would like? We can also leave the kiddos with grandparents for adult fun…lol. Thanks for any suggestions!!

  2. Nashville is SO fun! For music history, the Ryman Auditorium or Grand Ole Opry is neat to tour….and you HAVE to stop in the Opryland Hotel…it’s a beautiful garden INSIDE the hotel. It’s just really neat. If it’s nice out, your kids will love Centennial Park – it has a HUGE replica of the Parthenon. I used to love Rainforest Cafe in the Opryland Mills mall as a kid, too. If your son is into skating, there is a coffee shop/skate park called Rocketown that is fun to watch the skaters. I’ve never been, but I hear the Country Music Hall of Fame has a “musical petting zoo” where you can play with a bunch of instruments. The Spaghetti Warehouse downtown is a fun place to eat. Downtown is fun for adults…the Wildhorse Saloon is a GREAT place to try line dancing (lots of people who know what they’re doing for you to follow) or just to watch the dancers and listen to great music. Especially if they have a live act. Have a great trip!

  3. YAY ‘Lympics!!!!

  4. A Mob Wife sounds wonderful! We have a lot in common. I also enjoy watching marathons of ANTM. My best friend and I use to spend a whole day doing that and just vegging out. It was so much fun. So cool that you get to go see Bruno. I would go but I can’t afford to do that and go to Riverfest.

  5. Oh neat! Thanks for sharing. Nice to get to know you a bit better!

  6. I’m so trying to convince my friends that we should go see Bruno for GNO when he comes here in June.

*Just reminding everyone to make sure they have followed my new blog….. 😉 Thanks!*
