Let Freedom Ring!

We had a great 4th of July.  The only thing that would have made it better is if I didn’t have to work the next day. Oh well…makes for a short week.
On Tuesday night after I got home from Zumba, and after dinner, we went for a little drive in the Mustang.  It was so nice outside, so with the windows down, it felt great!  We took some backroads and just enjoyed singing to the radio.  This is Tyler, driving a 68 Mustang, singing Big Girls Don’t Cry by Fergie.  Don’t tell him I snapped this picture.  He was jamming.
We slept in (or at least my definition of slept in…until 9:30…Tyler thinks sleeping in requires never seem a.m. on the clock!) and then got a late breakfast at Bob Evans!  It is new to our area, so this was our first time trying it out.  We have been to the one in Branson, and this one was just as good!
After brunch, we went across town to the hobby shop for Tyler to get some parts for his RC car.  The whole store looks like this:
Meaning, I spent my time in the chair at the front on Pinterest.  Tiny car parts don’t excite me.
After that, we came home…took a little nap…and then headed to my MIL’s for a cookout.  But the grill never got hot enough…so we cooked inside.  We had yummy food and then ventured into town for FreedomFest.  It is a big community festival with inflatables, vendors, food, music, and more.  We got there about 30-40 minutes before fireworks, so we listened to the band and walked around.
Then we got in the back of the truck and watched the fireworks.  There is a burn ban locally, so only professionals could shoot them off.  It was a good show.
After the fireworks, we went back to listen to some more music.  This is 10 Spur, a local band.  They are really good.  We stayed out WAY too late for me to have to get up at 4:45 on Thursday morning…but it made for a fun day.
How was your holiday?

  1. Looks like a fun 4th! I laughed when you said tiny car parts don’t excite you…me either! 🙂 I would have been in the same spot you were!

  2. Fun day! Yeah Chris considers noon to be sleeping in. I just can’t sleep that late. I mean, the day is half over.

    • I know! Once I see sunlight, I gotta get up. Even if its just to curl up on the couch with coffee, I feel like that is better than wasting the day in bed. I have no problem with a mid-day nap…but for some reason in the mornings, I can’t linger.

  3. My hubby’s favorite restaurant for breakfast is Bob Evans! Biscuits and gravy!

Sounds like y’all had a nice, relaxing day!
