New Years Weekend

New Years Weekend

We had a great New Years Weekend.  A mix of productivity, relaxation, fun, and friends.

One morning, I woke up far too early for being off work…and was frustrated a first.  Instead, I chose to take the beautiful sunrise as a joy bomb from God. It was too cold to sit outside, but I sat in my kitchen and admired the view for a while.

We spent New Year’s Eve relaxing.

I started the day off work (I took a vacation day) and got a massage, met up with my parents for lunch, and hung out with Tyler.

We decided to celebrate the new year at 11 with the East Coast and then head to bed. 🙂

We all piled on the couch for the ball drop.

I’ve also started on turning my health around for the new year! I’ve started the Whole 30 again and started working out.  One evening, I did my walking DVD in the guest room while Tyler watched a movie.  It feels good to be back on it!

On the 2nd, we went to the 1st birthday party for our friends’ little boy Ryan.  It was pretty low key and was great to just watch him play and enjoy the company.

Look at the PRECIOUS cupcake cake!

He had a good time eating it, too!12440340_10205263984426196_6342359124169780501_o.jpg

I also chose my life verse for the year.  Our pastor challenges us to pick a verse for this year to guide us. It’s 1 Peter 5:10 “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

So that was our low key weekend. Lots of naps, lots of time together (thanks to Ty’s foot), and some cleaning.  We’re ready to hit 2016 running!

How was your New Year?

  1. Sounds like a great New Years! I’d love to take a vacation day and get a massage. I’ve never gotten one before! That cupcake cake is too precious, too.

I stayed in with my mom and ate snacks. Haha. I’m obviously a party animal.

    • Oh girl…go get you a massage! They are HEAVENLY (well, most of the time. I’ve had some bad masseuses..but for the most part!). I’m glad you got to ring the year with your mom. Snacks make anything a party. We had some Trader Joe’s potstickers earlier on NYE and they were AWESOME.
