Non-Scale Victory Linkup

It’s been a while, but I’m linking up with Katie at KTJ Weighin In for Non-Scale Victory linkup
I’m just sharing a couple things that were awesome this week that were strides toward healthier living, but not necessarily scale related.
First, on Monday when it was nice outside, we walked at lunch.  I’ve been walking on nice days with my coworkers…and it just feels so good to get moving.
Second, I made GREAT food choices at church last night.  What’s funny is I’m doing a Bible study at church on Wednesday about healthier living…but temptations abound there.  I did pre-order a chicken salad, so I skipped the delicious looking chicken fried steak and had my salad.  But sometimes I struggle with the dessert options.  I happily ate my 90 calorie brownie that came with my salad and didn’t even look at the dessert table.
And I did two mornings in a row of Jillian.  I REALLY wanted to stay in bed for a few more minutes today because I have a ridiculously long day….but I got up and did it.  And I feel great for doing it.
And the annual girl scout cookie preorder is in full effect.  And I haven’t ordered ANY.  Last year, I preordered just one box…but then ended up buying more when they came in.  Just saying no this year.
What did you do for your health this week?


  1. It’s the best feeling when you get out of bed in the morning and complete and workout because it’s the hardest thing ever getting out of bed for that! Good job!

  2. Yay to getting up and getting moving but even more so to saying no to girl scout cookies! I know that will be a challenge for me this year!

  4. I’m so happy for you, girl! It takes a lot will power to give up those yummy deserts at church bible studies. At my Friday night bible study, we always have really yummy deserts, and having to resist them is so hard, but it’s totally worth it in the long run–even though it doesn’t feel like it in the moment. Isn’t it crazy how easy it is to give into eating a brownie? It’s almost like something as simple as food can easily become an idol in our life if we’re not careful. I’ve been noticing that about myself lately. It’s totally not healthy for me to be craving chocolate THAT bad. haha!

  5. Getting through two days of Jillian is a huge victory. It’s been on my to-do list for weeks now to start the 30 Day Shred and I haven’t started yet . .. oops lol.

  6. Great job! Food at parties and other gatherings is one of the hardest thing about weight loss for me, but planning ahead helps so much! You did great!
