My Oh My

I feel so in transition. Going from little old Miss, to Mrs. Tyler and I talked about when he would move his stuff up to my apartment. I think Saturday is the day.

I am so excited to be getting married. I mean, we are SOOOOOOOOOOO close. Just 12 days left! But for some reason, thinking about him moving in made it just so real. And I’m still excited, but as I’ve been thinking about it all day, I have a funny feeling about it.

Its not being unsure, I know that. I’ve never been more sure about anything. I love him, he loves me, we are ready for this venture. But this feeling was just maybe a little bit of uncertainty. I know God loves uncertainty because in those moments we can really depend on Him.

I don’t know where we will live in June once my lease is up. I don’t know what I’ll do after grad school to contribute to our family.

I don’t know a lot of things. I don’t know exactly where Tyler will keep all his belongings. But I do know I’m ready. I will have lots of uncertain moments, but I know between God, Tyler, and my Mom (whom I still call several times a day to discuss things…thanks mom!) I’ll get it all figured out.

I DO know how blessed and fortunate I am. And I can’t lose sight of that.

“Celebrating My Singleness”

Last night, all these lovely ladies came out to celebrate my singleness. My bachelorette party was so much fun. We ate at PF Changs for dinner first. Our poor sweet male waiter thought we were so funny. We laughed and squealed and were so loud all night. You should have seen everyone as they came in. I haven’t seen most of these girls in a while so it was (very high pitched shriek) OMG Hi sweetie! I’ve missed you! So glad to see you! (followed by hugs and more squeals). So fun.

After dinner, we all read our fortune cookies, and for some bachelorette fun, added the phrase “in bed” to the end. The best one of the night: endurance and persistence will be rewarded (in bed). Much laughter ensued after we read each one.
Then we went down to the River Market and went to Willy Ds. Its my favorite bar/club/dance spot and we had a good time. I had on my sash/crown/shot glass necklace combo and a guy bought our first round of drinks as a “wedding gift” haha. Of course, only us OBU grads imbibed, as those still students are not allowed. They were good girls.
We danced and had so much fun.
We were planning on staying till closing time at 2, but at about quarter to 1, the lights came on the the music stopped. They made everyone leave. This was our sad faces that we had to leave early. But the night was so fun! I love these girls and am so thankful they love me enough to come out and celebrate with me!

Exciting Things

Here is a short photo story of my last two days:

We went to the Sebastian County Clerk.
We got our marriage license!
Then Rachael came for a visit!
We went on a tour of Fayetteville…complete with my favorite stop….the pond at Washington Regional to see the ducks.
Then we went to the other best stop in Fayetteville…Rick’s Bakery. Rachael had a peanut butter brownie and I had that delicious strawberry cupcake topped with a chocolate covered strawberry. AMAZING.

Tomorrow night is my bachelorette party in Little Rock….fun stories to come!

Big Day

So today is a big day.
We are getting our marriage license.

We are having our last premarital counseling session.

And the most exciting part…

THIS GIRL is coming for a short visit.

This is Rachael, or Rachie (isn’t she precious!?). We met our freshman year by being REALLY overzealous to sign up for Tiger Tunes. Signups were at like 8 p.m. or something, and we both showed up at 8 a.m. and skipped all of our classes that day to be sure we got in the show! haha….(this is us as CM Elves in Tiger Tunes. We’re hot. We know.)

Then she was a strong rock for me when I was trying to branch out a bit later in my freshman year. She kept bringing me to fun stuff with new girls.(I became friends with this whole group pretty much because of Rach. She would drag me up to their hall to watch One Tree Hill or Gilmore Girls….both of which at the time I’d never watched. But I sat there and made friends! haha)

Then we pledged Tri Chi together. (ew no sleep bid day pics. We were sooo tired!)
Then we roomed together our sophomore year (well…for a semester until she got offered a place in the nicer dorms and moved up!).
(This is us with our friend Megan in our room at the end of Perrin 3rd floor. It kicked butt because it had a private bathroom. There are so many funny things in this picture, but please notice the pink bubble chair in the lower left corner. We are messy people. And we would pile stuff in this chair. Once I thought I lost some pants and shoes. But they were just in that chair with a bunch of stuff piled on top.)

But we have been close friends for years, and I just love her. She is in the house party of my wedding. She wanted to come for a short visit (just tonight and tomorrow) before I become old and married! haha

I’m so excited to spend some time with her. I say it alot, but girlfriends are gifts from God. Such a blessing.
