Honeymoon Chapter 4

We woke up Monday morning in Hawaii, and enjoyed our banana bread from Julias and a fresh pineapple the condo gave us for breakfast on our lanai. Then we had to check in. They had this message waiting for us!
Then we rented some snorkel equipment and went to Honolua Bay, which we found the day before. It was gorgeous.
Along the path to the bay, there was this little rainforest. It looked like a scene from Avatar.
We trekked over huge rocks (its not a sand beach….its all big rocks…a little tough for me!) We got in the water.
Tyler loves to dive under while snorkeling. I stay on top of the water.
This was my favorite fish. It was so bright…like it was colored with highlighters!
Then we came home, took a nap, then got ready to go eat at Mamas Fish House for dinner. It was beautiful! Right on the water.
We took some pictures while we waited.
They gave us their prime table. Middle of the restaurant right along the windows. Star service. Then they brought us little shooters of the yummiest tomato soup!
They knew we were on our honeymoon, and brought over a lei to congratulate us! Later we got 2 scoops of homemade ice cream to celebrate on the house!
I had their signature dish…macadamia nut mahi mahi with crab and lobster stuffing. It was amazing.
Tyler had this fish stew that was curry and had coconut milk and three different kinds of fish. It was a little spicy…but really good!

Then we went back to the condo and hung out and got a good nights sleep.

Honeymoon Chapter 3

First full day in Maui! We got up and went to Duke’s for breakfast! It was my fave spot in Oahu many years ago, so I was thrilled there was one on Maui too!

I had macadamia nut banana pancakes with coconut syrup. They were amazing. Mouth is watering now.

Ty had regular pancakes. So fluffy and wonderful. Even had the little crispy edges. Yummy.
Then we walked on the beach at Dukes. First time the toes were in the sand and water.

Then we went exploring. We drove the West coast stopping at several things in this book (our Maui Bible) and anything that looked interesting.

Honolua Bay. So pretty! We came back the next day to snorkel here.

Tyler makes me be adventurous. We hiked down this little dirt path to this beach. There was not a soul around and it was so beautiful.

Then the road became windy and narrow. Tyler was in heaven driving the Jeep through all this.

We stopped and saw a waterfall!

We made it all the way around the top part of the island and went to Paia Fish Market for lunch. We saw their fish tacos on “Best Thing I Ever Ate” on the Food Network.

I had fish quesadillas…. amazing!

And Tyler had the fish tacos. They were too big to eat like tacos, so he made taco salads. They were good too.

We ate dinner at Bubba Gumps in Lahaina.

Then we went grocery shopping and bought some goodies for the rest of the week.

Honeymoon Chapter 2

So on our travel day…we left from Dallas then flew to Phoenix. We went from Phoenix to Kahului (a 6.5 hour flight). We watched the Blind Side and Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel on the plane. It made the time pass better to watch movies.

When we got there, we checked in our condo then found a place to get dinner in a shopping center close by.
It was called JBs and I got macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi (with REALLY good mashed purple potatoes) (sorry the picture is too dark. The plate was white and when I used flash, it washed it out too bad) and Tyler got sushi. He thought the sushi would be cooked, but it was real RAW sushi. He liked it! I didn’t try it. Too much fish for me…

Then we called it a night so we could start our adventure the next day!

Honeymoon Chapter 1

Since this blog is for my memories…I’m going to break down our honeymoon one day at a time.

On the first day, we left Fayetteville and drove to Dallas. We were headed to the Parts Unlimited Dealer Showcase at the new Cowboy’s Stadium. We had a great time traveling, just singing along to the radio and driving. Tyler loves to echo the radio and make up new words, and it always makes me laugh. He is so cheesy and funny- I just love him.

The stadium was so huge and overwhelming!

They served us dinner…it looked so fancy….BBQ and yummy salads.

They were setting up for a motorcross race on Saturday that we missed b/c we left. We will try to go next year.

We spent the night at the Fairfield Inn Irving and got up early to go to the airport! We hotel had a great continental breakfast with breakfast burritos and Texas shaped waffles! haha. A great start to our trip!
