Family Fun Weekend

Family Fun Weekend

We made one weekend into a family fun weekend (sort of impromptu…this wasn’t a planned thing) by doing SUPER fun stuff for 3 days after Remi’s nap.

It started on Friday.  Tyler decided to keep her at home because he was off work and wanted some time with her (he’s a great daddy!) and then in the afternoon, we hit up the Monkey House.

She loves this place. It’s just full of inflatables, and she loves to run and jump. She even made a cute little friend with a 4 year old girl.

She just loves this big green slide, and lucky for her, her Gigi will willingly climb it 100 times with her!

From the Monkey House, she went home with Gigi for the night- so Tyler and I got a date night! We went to dinner at Rolando’s and then we saw Hobbs and Shaw – the new Fast and Furious spin off. It was funny and, of course, Tyler LOVED it.

On Saturday, she came home and we all ate lunch and she napped (for like 3 hours).  While she napped, we cleaned the house like crazy (yay for a clean house). And after nap, we took her to the big movie theater to see The Lion King!

We had attempted Frozen at a smaller not-really-a-movie-theater place in town but to be honest, she was restless and I wasn’t in a good mental place then and so it was anxiety-inducing all around.

This time around, she was a little restless but made it through the whole movie!  She ate LOTS of popcorn and M&Ms, and only took two potty breaks. (Pro tip: This theater has movies before 4 pm that are like $4.38, so it’s a great way to try a movie with a kid and not feel bad if you had to leave early)

The movie was cute, but since it was 90% the same as the original, I’m not really sure why they remade it.

Sunday morning, she had her LAST day in the church nursery! She’s loved her classes there (and we’ve loved watching her enjoy it) but it’s time to move to the tots class. She’s ready. She’s gonna love learning songs and stories and doing more crafts.

They had a little pajama party for the kids, and we had to grab a picture on their cute photo wall.

After lunch and nap, (another long nap…we had to wake her after 2.5 hours!) we went to the water park! Mimi took this fun picture of us.

She had to warm up and figure out she was brave and the slides were fun. But then she had a blast. She went down every slide in the kid’s area, swam the lazy river without a tube, enjoyed the wave pool big waves, and just had a blast.

I’m so thankful we can sneak in family time when we get it! (But thank goodness, Tyler’s schedule is back to “normal” now from the summer crazy).

Getting Up to Date

Getting Up to Date

Here’s this week’s catch-up post with all of the random fun we’ve been having!

One evening, Remi asked me to come into the playroom and help her build blocks (not unusual) but what WAS different was she had a purpose: build a robot!

She directed me and built a lot of it (needing some help but it was all her ideas). He needed legs, a helmet, arms and a jetpack! I LOVED watching her imagination and her engineering skills.

Our family time has been very sparse this summer with Tyler working nights during the week. But he’s been AMAZING sneaking in time when he can- including mornings. This particular morning, he hadn’t gotten home until like 3 a.m., but he got up at 6 to wake Remi up and see us for the 20 minutes before we left.

It just warmed my heart at what a good daddy he is!

We’ve gotten this game out a time or two, but Remi hasn’t been totally into it…but she asked to play it outside with me and Gigi one evening and she was LOVING it.

It’s the Move and Groove game from Amazon, and it was so fun to play together.

I bought Remi some Curlformers for her upcoming pageant and so we tried them out one night after bath. She was FEELING herself with them and looked precious!

I laughed at Doctor Remi coming to give my my checkup with her curlers.

Before bed, she asked for me to take them out, and thankfully, after only an hour or so, she had the CUTEST curls. I can’t wait for pageant day when they will stay in for a bit longer.

Hope you have a great day!

Remi’s First Wedding!

Remi’s First Wedding!

My bestie Alden’s sister, Reed, was getting married. And she’s been like family for a while (that’s what happens when it’s your besties sister!), so we were so excited to be invited.

It was just a few hours away- so we decided to go on a little family trip to the wedding. And I’m SO GLAD WE DID.

We headed down Saturday afternoon and checked into the hotel to jump on the beds and get ready for the wedding.

Look at my cute wedding dates!

I didn’t take any pics of the wedding but it was beautiful. Reed was gorgeous, the venue was beautiful and the decor was just so classy.

But I was mostly just in love with this sweet girl enjoying the day!  She did SO WELL during the ceremony and was CRACKING US UP talking to the other little kids and lots of people there.

We had a blast at the reception, too…eating dinner and popsicles.

Remi was READY to hit the dance floor.  But once the party really got going, the music was loud and she preferred to be outside. 🙂

IMG_1180

Probably the best and funniest part was when Alden RAN over to me. I reallllly thought she had spotted me during the ceremony (she was the MOH) but I thought we had this locking-eyes-moment.  Turns out she didn’t realize we were there and was sort of sad we didn’t come. But then her husband (who we had talked to before the ceremony) was like “Um…she’s right over there.” And she RAN to me squealing. 🙂

Hugging her neck and dancing with our girls was so fun.

IMG_1182

Alden’s little girl Avery was living her BEST LIFE on the dance floor, surrounded by so many people who loved her.

IMG_1183

I’m so grateful Tyler says “yes” when I’m like- hey let’s go away for the night to this wedding!  He’s always up for fun.

IMG_1187

Sunday morning, we got hotel breakfast and then spent time in the pool….because the fun of a hotel is jumping on the beds and jumping into the pool!

IMG_1189

We got to visit and play some more with Alden, Mike and Avery before we left- which just fills my heart with love.

Before we left Conway, we got pizza and gelato at ZAZA (yum) and then we headed home. Thankfully, Remi slept GREAT at the hotel and napped almost the entire drive home. It was a fun trip together!

And crazy enough, it was our first trip as just the 3 of us. Every other trip has had one of our moms with us. It was fun to be just us together.

The Cousin Crew

The Cousin Crew

We went to see baby Hattie (and her parents, of course) and the girls finally wore their matching outfits! Hattie is about 6 weeks here.

Remi LOVES her. It’s precious (but it’s also eye opening to me at how difficult it would be with two! Because I feel like I need to watch her every moment because she doesn’t understand what might hurt Hattie- like feeding her food or tiny toys, etc.).

But goodness, they are cute together! These cousins are gonna have a blast together!
