All the Fun Things

All the Fun Things

This Spring has been full of lots of fun moments!

Tyler got the lawn mower out for the first time and Remi was SO excited to go for a ride. She was in the bathtub when she heard it start up outside. “Daddy mowing the grass?”  Yes, baby, he’s mowing the grass. “Hurry and wash my hair so I can go ride!!”

She earned a trip to the Monkey House for having 5 good nights of sleep (middle of the night wakeups/freakouts/trying to break out of her room have been happening) and after she jumped, she needed to show Gigi her Super Remi cape and mask!  Super Remi was flying around the parking lot!

We went to one of Daddy’s soccer games, and these sweet girls were SO WONDERFUL to Remi. Remi wanted to play with them (they were from the visiting team, and just little sisters waiting for the game to pass), and I am working with her on “Say hi, ask if you can play with them, ask their name” and these sweet girls went along with everything and played so sweetly with her. Tyler snapped this picture from his perch on top of the stands.

Our town had a great car show that we hit up on a Saturday. Remi thought the cars were fine, but she REALLY loved the snow cone and bouncy house!

I can’t get enough of this little girl!

Tough to take pictures, but she’s 100% a fan of bounce houses now. She REALLY wanted her little friend Revin to come in and play. But he was hesitant. She kept saying “Momma, help Revin! He needs a boost to come in!”

We went to a baby shower for our cousin Kelsey and baby Hattie.  She looked SO cute in her dress and pigtails.  She was A MESS at the shower- hyped up and wanting to help them open gifts (which they didn’t mind, but some guests who didn’t know her and their relationship were annoyed, I think).  But she looked cute, so whatever.

We broke out her Future OBU Tiger shirt (Thanks Alumni program!) for school and of course, we had to tiger growl before school.

This season of life is so, so good.

Remi’s Third Pageant

Remi’s Third Pageant

There was another pageant fundraiser for our baseball team, and since Remi loves being the center of attention, we entered her.

I DIYed her pageant dress- it’s a cheap one from Zulily plus some rhinestones.

She was having an antsy day because she didn’t nap well, but she still enjoyed herself. She got to go on stage twice- a casual look and her pageant dress.  She loved the applause.

She was supposed to be in the baby category, apparently (there were girls her age in it- with moms helping them) but communication got crossed when I called to enter her, and we put her in the next category- which was girls up to 5. Oops.

So she couldn’t really “compete” but we just do these for fun, anyway, so no big deal.

She was SO brave. She even got an on-stage question! What’s your favorite color?  “BLUE” she proudly said.

She won a medal, 2nd runner up and crowd favorite. We are so proud of her.

But mostly, we LOVE this portrait of our silly girl. That’s her cheese face. She channels Chris Farley for sure.

Fun Leading Up to Easter

Fun Leading Up to Easter

The day before Easter, our little town had a fun egg hunt at the park. It was great- different areas for different aged kids. TONS of candy-filled eggs. And THE EASTER BUNNY.

Remi loves people in costumes, and she was pumped to meet the bunny.

Before the hunt started, she was “SO CITED!” (so excited!)

The only drawback was since the eggs were “hidden” around the playground, she wanted to stop and play more than hunt the eggs.

After the hunt, we did our fair share of playing. This girl LOVES a good park.

After lunch and nap, we got together with the cousins to dye eggs. Most of her eggs were blue, her favorite color.

These kids may be big, but they had fun with their littlest cousin.

Mimi had turned the pool heater on, and while the water was still cool, most of the kids got in and splashed around. Remi can’t wait for warm summer days at the pool.

We grilled burgers and dogs for dinner and played until dusk. It was a great family day together!

Celebrating Easter

Celebrating Easter

Easter was a wonderful blessed day!

The Easter Bunny left some goodies out for Remi that she found upon waking (a balance beam, pom poms and some other fun stuff!).  She wanted to go outside and use her new bubbles first thing and I told her “No baby, it’s too wet outside” (from the dew).  She peeked out the front window to see if it was wet and she spotted EGGS!

The Easter Bunny had help from our local dance team who left candy filled eggs in our yard (a great fundraiser for them!). She gasped and wanted to go right out and get them.

Each egg was a new surprise. Sweet girl was running around gathering and shaking the eggs.

We got ready and headed to church.

As a family, we served as greeters, and she LOVED taking bulletins to everyone walking in. I loved watching her.  She was happy as long as there was music going, but she quickly got antsy during the sermon, so we went into the lobby.

After, we took some family photos. It was wonderful to all be together on Easter.

My friend from college, Lauren, made this dress for her. Lauren runs Sew Sweet It Is– check her out!

Daddy and Gavin hid eggs while she played, and then she hunted while lunch cooked.  She was, once again, THRILLED at all the eggs. They were cold from the fridge, which she thought was fun!

Auntie helped her find some eggs up high!

“Show momma your eggs”  “EGGGGGGGGS”

We all played and lounged around after lunch. She LOVES Lukey.

She got some musical instruments from Mimi, so we had a fun musical parade. We all grabbed an instrument and walked around the kitchen and living room.

When it was nap time, everyone left so she could rest. After nap, we went to Gigi’s house to play with her tractor and horse. Remi LOVES Gigi’s new horse, Rex. Tyler and I took a quick ride on him, too!

It was a great day with family! We are SO THANKFUL for our Risen Savior, and that we can celebrate Easter.
