Planning Easter

We are hosting Easter at our house this year.

I’m excited.

But, I’m also in the Easter service as Mary Magdalene in the drama, so I have to be strategic.

I think I’m going to make ham, chicken and rice casserole, green beans, and mashed potatoes.  I’m going to let someone bring rolls, and someone bring dessert.  I found some recipes on Pinterest, but I’m not 100% sold yet. I may even ditch the ham and rolls and just make the ham poppy seed rolls that are SO good.

However, I’m looking for suggestions.  Share with me your favorite crockpot recipes, things that can be premade and kept in a warm oven for a while, etc. that would be good for Easter.  We will have my family, Tyler’s family, and my cousins/aunt there. So easy stuff for a crowd.

  1. YUM!!! You can invite me over if there are any empty chairs. 😉

  2. This might not be hearty enough, but when I hosted Easter (a long time ago) we did chicken salad croissants, those same ham poppy seed sandwiches and then cold and hot veggies and dips. But I think ham with an amazing glaze is perfect.

  3. I think you need to give us the recipe for the ham, chicken and rice cassarole. That sounds AMAZING!

  4. I always make mashed potatoes and put them in a baking dish with cheese and baked them. Almost like twice baked mashed potatoes. I use cream cheese or mayo to keep them from drying out. They stay warm well.

  5. I was just saying how I hoped my family would make the ham poppyseed sandwiches – so delicious!
