Seven Months Old

Seven Months Old

This month has been amazing. I say it often, but this month she’s learned and adapted to so much. She’s become SUCH an easy baby. Everyone comments on how good she is, how happy she is (unless you’re trying to make her sleep for naps. Girl doesn’t want to miss anything and fusses at nap time).

This month, Remington is 16.5 lbs. We (unfortunately) just had a doctor’s appointment for a virus, so we got weight then.  She’s wearing size 2 diapers and 6 and 6-9 months clothing (the 3-6 tops still fit, but any shorts or onesies are too short).

She’s still eating 5-6 5 ounce bottles a day, and solids once a day. She LOVES to eat. She was feeding herself, but in the last week, has just let me feed her. But she gobbles up her food. She loves getting fruit in the mesh feeder and does great holding her own spoon. She usually gives it back after bites or when I say “Can mama have?”  She’s had: sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, corn, blueberries, avocado, prunes, bananas, peaches, potatoes, apples, apricots, mangoes, squash, yogurt and pears. She didn’t love the bananas, but has loved everything else.

She started daycare this month. They adore her there, which makes me feel great. I’m so happy with our daycare decision. The teachers (even the ones that aren’t hers!) speak to her by name, talk to me every time I’m around, and are just so caring. I had some fears and sadness on day 1, but that was it. The daycare owner and manager is the same lady that had the facility when Tyler was younger. She said to Tyler that Remi was so good that “You better not have another. They won’t be wonderful like this.” ha!

She is happy when I drop her off. She smiles at her teachers. I love that she gets so many new toys and opportunities there.  One day I picked her up and they had her sitting in front of this cool mirror to play- something I hadn’t thought of! So they are doing such unique things with her!

She has started making smacking noises, like kisses.  She also is “giving sugars” or leaning in open mouth to kiss us. She won’t do it on command, but she does it when I think she wants to kiss you! It’s the sweetest thing!

She loves music- music on the radio, music when mama sings, music from her toys.

Her favorite toys are Sophie the Giraffe, Beat Belle, and her rubber blocks. She does the funniest sucking noise on the corners of the blocks!

She’s up on her knees rocking, so I’m sure crawling is just around the corner. She can sort of pull with her arms and roll and turn, so she’s pretty mobile. We were playing in the floor and she basically scooted from one play mat to the next without crawling. When she crawls, I feel like she will be all over the place.

Her first two teeth broke through this month! They’re not all the way in, but are coming in strong. She had some stuffiness and fever from the teething, but was otherwise great.

She’s sleeping through the night 11-12 hours. (Praise hands. Sleep coaching works!).

Her names include: Roo, Roo Bug, Bug, Remi Grace, Bunny.  They call her mama at daycare.

Remington Grace, you have no idea how much you’re loved. We just laugh and smile at you. We love watching the world through your eyes- feeling grass, seeing new things, hearing new noises – it’s all amazing. You’re so smiley and happy and you bring us such joy!
