Slow Cooker Bananas Foster

We had a Slow Cooker Challenge at work last month.  I searched and searched online for a recipe that sounded unique, and I found a recipe for Crock Pot Bananas Foster, which sounded good…but not perfect. So I decided to try my own recipe…and it was a hit! So much in fact, that I won the contest!

My crock pot bananas foster was voted the top recipe in our cook-off!  Here is my recipe!  Sugar, fat, and cream?  Who can go wrong?

Blurry ingredients.

Slow Cooker Bananas Foster
-12 Bananas- peeled and chopped (I cut mine in half lenghth-wise, then in slices…like half moons)
-2 cans sweetened condensed milk
-1 1/2 sticks butter, cut into cubes
-1 cup brown sugar
-2 tablespoons vanilla
-sprinkle of cinnamon
Put all the ingredients in your slow cooker and put on low. It will be very light colored now.

Stir every 30 minutes until the butter is melted (1 hour?).

Then crank it up to high (but ONLY if you can watch and stir it).  Stir it every 20-30 minutes, and when it reaches a light caramel blonde color, turn back to low.  Cook for 3-4 hours total and serve warm over vanilla ice cream.   Tyler also thinks it would be great on butter pecan ice cream!

It isn’t pretty….it looks like a light brown banana soup…but MAN, is it yummy!
