Technically Speaking

I am having a love/hate relationshiop with technology.
I love it because it makes things easier to do. There is no way I could crunch the numbers for my thesis without the computer program doing it for me. It is easier to track my calories online than looking up items in a book and tracking them on paper.
Technology has also provided me with a job. I am a DIGITAL marketing manager. Couldn’t really do that without technology, huh?
Well, I am also hating it. I am hating spending so much time with it. Just with my thesis this week, I’m looking at 4-5 hours in front of a computer screen doing more statistical tests and writing. My eyes are hurting from staring at a screen at school and work and my hands hurt from typing so much. The computer in my classroom was so…..slow….yesterday. It is frustrating to have to wait around for technology. And then our DVD player in our bedroom quits working for no apparent reason.
Oh well, not too much I can do about it all. I did look up (online, I might add) some tips for my eyes and hands since I work at a screen…and hopefully those will help. But for today, I’m a little frustrated with technology.
Anyone else feel this way? Anyone? Bueller?

  1. I feel your pain! Being a graphic designer I am looking at a screen 8 hours a day and have developed awful ocular migraines (never had them before this job!) I’m looking into buying a pair of “computer glasses” which are supposed to help, but for now I am doing the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. It lets your eyes adjust and gives them a little break 🙂

    Love the blog, miss ya!
