The Night the Power Went Out

So Thursday night, it stormed here.  The rains were much needed, and once the drops started falling…we were all saying prayers of thanks to God.

However, it caused the power to go out.  Now, normally, I don’t mind a power outage.  I’m a resourceful girl and I can make it all work.

However, the power went out about 8 minutes before my 4:45 Zumba class.  People were showing up.  They didn’t want to leave (who volunteers to leave indoors to go drive home in the wind and rain?)  But there was no power!  What to do?

Open the blinds to let in a little bit of light, let the music play on the external speaker of my iPod, and try and sing along enough that everyone else can follow!  I’m pretty sure I was the only one who could really hear the music…but I tried really hard to make it work.

That isn’t a ghost…it’s me leading Zumba in the dark!

It was a funny class.  We had about 12-15 people there, and there we were: in the dark, dancing in a circle, being absolutely die-hard Zumba fans.

My friend Lisa took a video of us.  You can hear me trying to sing along (which is hard when the songs are in another language!) and keep the class moving.  A night I’ll never forget for sure!
(The flash on my camera comes on about halfway through and you can actually see us dancing like fools.  Enjoy.)

  1. That’s too funny!

  2. That’s hilarious!
