Two months old! Time has flown by!
Some stats: At her last doctor’s appointment, she was 10 lbs, 11 ounces, and 22.5 inches long. She has grown two inches since birth! She’s 30th percentile for weight and head circumference, and 50th for height.
This month, she moved up to 0-3 clothing and wears size 1 diapers.
She’s eating 4 ounces every 3-4 hours during the day, but we average 5-7 hours of sleep at a time at night! Her record is 8 hours!
Some Remington facts this month: She LOVES when Pippin is near her. He licks her hands (which we discourage, but he’s a wiry little thing that doesn’t listen) and she smiles big.
She has started interacting with us SO much. It’s so fun to make her smile.
She is loving her bouncer. It’s how I manage to get ready in the mornings.
She is doing better at napping. She is napping on the go quite well, and a swaddle makes daytime nap come easier. She also sleeps amazingly in her Ergo carrier. We use it for Wednesday night church Bible study and walks.
She likes getting dressed now. Big change from last month. She is all smiles during clothing time now.
She loves lights and movement. She cranes her neck to see the Christmas tree, lights on the TV or anything that lights up.
She still sleeps swaddled. Much quieter at night now.
Right before she falls asleep, we get the sweetest smiles and a little bird chirp. It’s awesome.
She is much more calm and chill now. Not as much crying outbursts and fussiness.
She loves her paci. However, sometimes she makes a game of spitting it out and is putting it back. She will smile big, so she thinks that’s fun.
She loves the Yoeebaby tickle toy. Big smiles when being tickled.
She rolled over halfway! It was a fluke thing, but it happened!
She is VERY vocal. Lots of talking to us.
Tummy time has served her well. During the day, she holds her head up about 50% of the time.
In the mornings, we snuggle in the big bed together. She loves that. She will nestle her head in my arm when we do that.
She loves bath time, but HATES having her hair washed. We are going to try a different method this week and see if that helps.
Sometimes she WAILS in her car seat. It’s usually because she needs a diaper change mid-ride, but sometimes it’s just because we’ve stopped at a stop sign. I wish I had a crystal ball to see the end of the car screaming. It can be rough.
Super stinky diapers. ‘Nuff said.
Her nicknames include baby girl, big girl, Rem, Remi Roo, “girl” (from daddy), sugar plum, and sugar dumplin.
Still on reflux meds, but we aren’t upping the dose as she grows (for now. Unless she starts to be in pain, then we will). We’re trying to slowly wean her off of them in the next couple months.
The most common thing strangers say about her is that she’s bright eyed and observant. We hear she’s beautiful a lot (we agree!) and lots of “That’s interesting” about her name – but I think it’s positive comments about her name. I just think they haven’t heard it as a name before.
She’s such a joy. Every day is more fun than the day before. We are loving life together. I dread going back to work only because I will miss our family time. Tyler’s schedule means we only spend full days together on days one of us takes off work. By evenings together will be magic.
Happy two months, baby girl!
