Oh Remi, you had a FULL week this week!
We started with the weekend. We started sleep coaching and were focused on naps. But she napped like a CHAMP at Daddy’s friend’s house on Saturday. Ty took the day off, so we spent the day with friends. She slept amazingly in the Ergo on and off all day.
And she looked like a Diva out in the sun.
Sunday was a different story. I had to sing in all three church services, so she was “off” and we ended up leaving after I sang to go home and nap.
Monday evening, we all surprised Tyler’s grandpa for his birthday by showing up to the singing.
He was SO excited to see his girl. He’s smitten.
She’s still eating great! She hasn’t loved a couple of foods (I mean, she eats them, but not with the crazy voracity of some others), but she CHOWED DOWN on some blueberries. I put them in the mesh feeder and she crushed them to a pulp. (It’s a great distraction while I cook! Win, win!)
Monday, Grammy took her to the library for story time, and I took an early lunch and joined them. Even though it’s geared for 2 and under, she was a bit small for the stories and songs (lots of hand movements and stuch). However, girlfriend was enamored with the bubbles. She was thinking “Toys just keep falling from the sky!”
The rest of the week was full of early bedtimes (hello sleep coaching!). She’s doing great though. It’s NOT a cry-it-out-method – in fact, it’s very responsive to her needs. But it’s teaching her self-soothing skills. She’s so alert and active that sleep comes difficult to her. It takes her a long time to settle and naps were a struggle. But she’s improving SO quickly. She’s a smart kiddo, she’s shown us that before, so I know she will figure out this sleep thing fast.
