Weekend Recap: Dallas, Podcasts, and Food

We had a whirlwind weekend (my favorite kind!). After work, I met up with mom and we set off to Dallas.  Dad was supposed to go with us, but at the last minute, didn’t want to.  Alzheimer’s is so darn difficult.  But we got him all set up with food, and Tyler was going to check on him when he got off work in the morning.

So off we went. I had started mom listening to Serial the last time we went to Fayetteville, and we listened to five more episodes on this trip.  One would finish, and she would be like, “Play the next one!” She’s hooked. 🙂

We stopped at the casino in Durant to eat dinner (crab legs, yum!). And we got to the hotel between 9-10 Friday night.  We crashed, but we were up early to do some shopping.

We hit up Trader Joe’s and the outlet mall (LOFT, Nike, and J Crew)…and then we ate a GREAT lunch at a place called Chiloso in Richardson. It was better than Chipotle.

We barely made it in time because parking was a nightmare…but we went to Dallas to see Kinky Boots at the Fair Park.

It was GREAT.  Great singing, funny, and we smiled the whole time.  Loved it. And the boots were killer.IMG_8913.JPG

On the way home, we didn’t want fast food, so I was checking out Yelp and we went to a mongolian grill in Durant called Khan’s Fire.  It was yummy, healthy, and fast.

Sunday, we were up early (dumb daylight savings time!)…and I was thrilled that I could go without foundation. I’ve been using Mandelic Acid serum and it’s working wonders for my skin.

The rest of the weekend was full of napping, eating leftovers, catching up on our DVR, and getting ready for the week.
