Weekend Recap: Down Time and Family Time

I had no plans this weekend.  And if you know me, you know that’s unusual.  I’m usually packed to the max busy…but I had nothing on the agenda.  It was nice, and I’m trying to do more of that.
Friday after work, we went and test drove a car (a Prius V Five, actually) and determined that’s what I want to look for.  We are looking for a used one…so it may be a while before we find the perfect one. 🙂
We had a date dinner at Cheddar’s with a gift card.  We got TONS of gift cards for Christmas and we love using them for date nights.  Yay for free food!
We came home and watched Getaway.  It was pretty good (for a car movie).
Saturday, I got up and did some cleaning…and then my cousins came over.  Gavin and Tyler shot guns and bows outside while Luke watched movies inside.
And Caitlyn and I huddled around my fire bowl. It was our first time to use it…and I LOVE it.
Nancy came over and brought her rescue dog, Boomer.  She LOVES to fetch.
Once the company left, I spent the rest of the evening in a blanket finishing Allegiant.  So good.
It was REALLY cold here (like in the teens) on Sunday…so we bundled up for church, lunch and Walmart.  After that, I went to mom and dad’s to do some sewing.  Mom helped me baste the quilt in the garage and I did half the quilting.
Tyler played ping pong at church Sunday night, and I got caught up on some housework and organizing.  Mikey was cold, and he just stayed snuggled in a blanket!
This weekend, I also picked my life verse for 2014.  Our pastor challenges us to choose a verse to learn and use all year.  I have chosen Colossians 3: 23-24. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Jesus Christ you are serving.”
And this morning, my car rolled over to 100,000 miles.  There goes the warranty!  🙂
Hope you stay warm on this Monday, friends!
