We had a great weekend. Time together, time with friends, time with family…all the important things.
But let’s start with my AWESOME new Minnetonka boots that I got 1/2 price on RueLaLa! I was SO excited to get them in and that they FIT. I have wider calves, but these boots are shorter, so they work. And you know what? Sure, they accentuate my calves, but I’m rocking them. Love. I got lots of compliments on them Friday night at the womens’ conference at church.
Friday night, I went to the conference. We were simulcasting the Heart to Home conference…which sort of seemed more like an advertisement for their ministry…but whatever. It was fun to be with the ladies at church.
(side note: I love my church family more and more. I came to this church because it was Tyler and my MIL’s church. It felt a long time like “their” church and not mine. I have to say, it’s mine now too. My MIL was there Friday helping…and I said hi and we chatted for a minute, but I have “my people” now and I love that.)
After the conference Friday, we went to a local restaurant to eat and closed the place down laughing in our little booth. Love.
I went back Saturday morning to the conference and it was a bit better. I had to leave at lunch to celebrate Gram’s 80th birthday.
Even though she doesn’t look thrilled here, she was so surprised when she saw a room full of family and friends. Several friends from out of town came too, so that was special.
Saturday afternoon, we played at mom’s with the kiddos. Fishing and skipping rocks because it was a GORGEOUS day.
Saturday night, Tyler’s wonky schedule caught up to him and he was ready for bed at like 7:30. So I laid down and started Gone Girl. I’m a few chapters in and so far, so good.
Sunday, we went to church, and then to the Fort Smith Marathon to cheer on runners. We had a sign that said “Chuck Norris never ran a marathon” and people LOVED it.
After that, we came home and did some cooking and cleaning.
We went back up to church Sunday night for a chili supper. Look at all that chili! (blurry iPhone pic!)
It was great to spend some time visiting with people and trying different chili and desserts. Yum!
So that was our weekend. How was yours? Chili: beans or no beans? Spicy or mild?
