Weekend Recap: Fun in the Sun

Weekend Recap: Fun in the Sun

This weekend was GREAT.  It was almost entirely pure fun (with a little work mixed in! ha!)

Friday I didn’t have rehearsal, so Tyler and I went on a date.  In between, I was listening to the Hanson livestream.  They announce tour dates today! Yipee!

Tyler and I went to dinner at Red Lobster, and then did some shopping.  We were at Petco, and had a good time watching all the animals, including all the mice. ha!

We also went to Tuesday Morning and got this super cute rug!

We had a great night together.

Saturday, I got up to walk the dogs and do some housework.  A neighbor had offered that we could walk down his long driveway (about 1/2 mile long) to avoid cars and other dogs.  It was a beautiful walk with a wildflower field along the path.

After we finished our walk, I got ready to go to a women’s ministry event.  Our church has a GREAT outdoor women’s ministry that does monthly events.  This month we went swimming at Cove Lake. It was a gorgeous day for the lake!

We floated, enjoyed a picnic lunch and each other’s company….until a snake swam through our group!  We got out of the water pretty fast!

Sunday we did church, lunch, and then my parents and MIL came over to help me clean out the garage.  Since there were 4 of us working, it didn’t take too long.  Dad was glad to help! 🙂

When Tyler got home, we all headed to the lake to swim and jet ski. Mom and I also did some swinging!

We got the tube out and Tyler and Nancy did some tubing. The big monster jet ski pulls it just fine around the lake!

It was such a great weekend.  I’m looking forward to this week – a short work week and a fun Friday! Bring it on. 🙂

How was your weekend?

  1. Ahhhh I’d have to vote no on a snake at the swim party!!! Yikes!! I am jealous that yall have such close proximity to swim-worthy lakes, though! I grew up right near the lake and we spent SO much time there swimming and skiing…and now I live in this lake-less wasteland. Lamesauce. 🙂

    • Yeah…we have several lakes here. The one the women’s ministry went to was about an hour’s drive. And it cost $1 per person to swim all day. So great!
