Weekend Recap: Garth, Workouts, and Downtime

Weekend Recap: Garth, Workouts, and Downtime

This weekend was a doozy! I got a little longer weekend than usual because I took a half day on Friday so mom and I could get to Tulsa.  I always forget to take pics when we are romping around…but we did some shopping and then had delish sushi at Yokozuna.  We had a sushi bar seat…so we got to watch the chef create the masterpieces!  It was SO good.

After dinner and a chilly walk to the BOK Center, we settled in for the concert.

Mom couldn’t make it work when we went to LR to see Garth Brooks, but Tulsa was do-able.  So I bought her tickets for Christmas.  And let me tell you, it was pure torture to see the show again. 😉 JK.  Garth was just as amazing again.  We had MUCH better seats for Tulsa than we did in Little Rock, the section right by the stage.

Tyler and his mom were blessings to us.  They stayed with dad during the evening so mom could have a worry-free night.  Dad is technically capable of being by himself (he doesn’t wander or anything) but since he doesn’t see well, issues can come up when he’s alone (like one time, he started the oven instead of the microwave and couldn’t see to turn it off. He panicked.) Anyway, mom was able to really relax and enjoy the show thanks to them.

We got home around 1 a.m….and sadly, I was up early at 8.  So I made the most of it and went to Zumba…then I met Tyler at the gym.  But our gym session was cut short because he wanted to drive to Oklahoma and look at a truck.  Y’all…the last thing we needed was ANOTHER vehicle, but I agreed to ride with him (see previous post about LEO life and spending time with him).  But on the drive over, he realized we didn’t need the truck either, and we turned back around.  On the way back, we stopped in a little town at their deer park.  It’s just deer in a fence with a feeder.  So for 25 cents, I got to pet a deer!IMG_8463.JPG

We spent the rest of the evening going to his mom’s to switch out the camera cards on the wildlife cameras, grocery shopping, and watching a movie. We also made up our workout doing a 21 Day Fix DVD.

Sunday, we were getting up to go to church, and it had been drizzling…and it was just cold enough that the hill we live on was iced over.  So we stayed home.  We got a lot done- cooking, cleaning, organizing.

And for dinner, I made this delicious beauty- a venison steak gorgonzola salad (per Tyler’s gourmet request).  It was delish.  Recipe coming later in the week. IMG_8472.JPG

The boys also loved us being home.  They rested…and they were just precious snuggled up together. IMG_8468.JPG

So that was my weekend!  How was your weekend?
