Weekend Recap: Girls Day and Pentatonix

Weekend Recap: Girls Day and Pentatonix

My weekend was a fun one.  Friday night we spent some time with my family who were in town for Spring Break…but with Tyler’s new schedule, we called it an early night.

Saturday, I was able to sleep in before hitting the road with the girls to Tulsa.

It was a random assortment of friends, but I was confident we would have a good time.  I hang with pretty cool people….and when I throw them all together, it rocks.  We decided to visit the Philbrook Museum, which was a 72 room mansion and 23 acre garden that’s turned into an art museum.

Haley was a fan of the color changing floor. 🙂

We viewed some of the art and then headed outside to enjoy the sunshine and see the gardens.  Gorgeous home.

There was more art outside, including some we decided to interact with. 🙂

Tulsa is full of art deco architecture.  I really love it.

Once we finished there, I took the crew to some of my favorite shops, including Glacier Chocolates. If I’m in the area, I HAVE to stop by for some chocolates.  Rachel said they were the best she’s ever had.  I agree.

Then we headed to the Brady Theater to see Pentatonix!  I was SO excited to see them again.  Lauren, Erin and I (the two sisters on the left) saw them together last year, and they blew our minds.  I’m so glad Rachel and Haley could come with us.

Rachel has been such a rock for me in Greenwood.  She’s such a great friend. I’m so thankful for her.

The show rocked my world.  They are 1000 times better live than they could ever be on YouTube.

This year they stepped up the production game with a cool video screen that really added to the show.

They did a song at the end without microphones, which was special and wonderful.  The room got crazy quiet while we enjoyed their beautiful harmonies.

So good.  If you get the chance to see them live, DO IT.

Sunday was for church and making some music of my own.  I joined the Easter choir (just for this week and next week) and we had quite a long practice Sunday afternoon.

So that was my fun girls day weekend.

What did you do this weekend?  Anything fun?

Comments

  1. Finished the Crossfit Open…which is a series of 5 weeks of competitions. It was fun! We had a big party on Saturday night to celebrate which included an entire roasted pig, delicious! Then on Sunday we had our Easter service (because of holidays in April, it’s better to do it early). It was a lot of fun, I even wore a dress (only because it’s culturally appropriate, I still hate dresses).

    • I saw that pig on IG and it looked so good! And I would have liked to see more of the dress….you in a dress is still a foreign concept to me! ha!
