Weekend Recap: Traveling to New York

Weekend Recap: Traveling to New York

This weekend was great ( I know I say that every time, but I’m thankful for time to refresh, renew, and do things).

Friday night we had a little at-home date. We made dinner and watched a movie. Mom joined us too, which was great.

Saturday was all about prepping to leave.  Cleaning, packing, and getting a massage. (Hallelujah for that!) It was SO good.)

Sunday, we left bright and early for a 7 a.m. flight.

We had brunch at the Atlanta airport at PF Chang’s- where I had the cutest little tea set for my hot tea!
We arrived in New York around 2:30- and got settled  into our  hotel by 4. We wanted to explore, so we hopped on a Double Decker bus across from our hotel and took a (slightly chilly) tour. We saw lots of neat stuff from the open deck.

We got off the bus at the 9/11 Museum and went inside. It’s so heavy and serious- but it’s so important. We saw it at dusk, which was beautiful.

We finished up at Ground Zero around 7:45, so we were hungry. I looked up what was close bu- and found a not busy Shake Shack! Yay for the best burgers!
And because I’m blogging on mobile during a break at the conference- the highlights from our bus for are out of order.

We saw the Flatiron building. Not sure I had ever seen it in person!
We also went by the Empire State Building!

And here is the view from my room  – 23rd floor right on Times Square!

So that’s what we did this weekend. More about NYC later!! (Also, someone told me I teased telling Ty I was pregnant and haven’t ever done that yet- I’ll post that next week!)
