This weekend was rough. There were high points and very low points.
One high point was our trip Saturday to go see the Newsboys. It was my birthday present- which Tyler planned on his own. 🙂 We almost didn’t go because of what was coming Sunday, but I’m glad we went. We had a great time. The concert was outside at Magic Springs. Tyler had never been, and we didn’t have time to do anything but the concert…so another trip will be planned in the future. \
The Newsboys were great. They brought a sweet set of video screens, and they played a ton of music we know and love. The atmosphere was great with lots of families and worshiping.
We got back around midnight, and poor Tyler had to get up Sunday at 3 a.m. to go to work. He was beat.
I got up and headed out at 7 with my MIL (who is a saving grace). We borrowed a wheelchair accessible van from some friends and hit the road at 7 a.m.
We went back to Hot Springs and picked up my uncle so he could see Gram.
We knew hospice was impending, and she is being transferred there today.
We wanted him to get a chance to see her. So we drove down, picked him up, drove him back home, and then drove ourselves home. That was 10 hours in the car in one day….15 in 2 days. At least the weather was nice and there were no issues with the drive.
One a funny note, on Mondays and Tuesdays the dogs get to go out one more time right before I leave since they are home all day. And when I let them back in, they were FILTHY. They both got emergency 5 minute baths before I left.
How was your weekend?
