What I’m Loving Wednesday

I am linking up with This Kind of Love for What I’m Loving Wednesday!

Today I’m loving…

…That I ran a little over a mile Monday!!  Yup!  I usually go for 2-3 mile walks after work a couple nights a week, and I decided to try to run.  Well, I made it just over a mile.  I think I could have gone further, but my old shoes were making my feet hurt like crazy.  Like so bad I almost couldn’t walk back to the car.  But I got new shoes and I think I’m going to try again on Friday (Mondays and Fridays are my only week days without Zumba).  I am hoping to go 1.33 miles (which is 3 laps on the track at our local park).  I made it about 2.75 laps last time.  I had tried the couch 2 5k before, but I only made it to a 10 minute run, which for me, wasn’t a mile.  So a new personal record.  Looking to beat it soon (if my legs will stop aching!)

…That we are going to Hot Springs this weekend!  I can hardly wait!  My family lives there, so we get to stay with them.  We will spend lots of time at the pool, barbequeing, and maybe even out on the lake.  Can’t wait to hang with my family!  On Sunday, we are doing a big “celebration” day for Mother’s Day, my mom’s birthday, and my birthday.  A big BBQ with the fam to celebrate all those things.

…My new Zumbawear!  I bought the Jammin’ Jersey pants and (while they are super long and I had to hem them) they are so comfortable!  The funny thing is, they are hip hop pants.  They are baggy with a low crotch.  My older Zumba ladies kept telling me “Your pants are too big!”  “Look at the crotch”  haha.  Not that my white girl butt knows much about hip hop fashion, but I think they are cute.

Zumba Jammin Jersey Pants.  I’m shorter than her, so the crotch is a bit lower on me.  They are cute, no?

What are you loving today?

What I’m Loving Wednesday

I am loving some fun things this week!
I’m loving…. that we had an impromptu date night last night!  First off, being finished with Zumba at 6:15 is SOO great!  Tyler gets off work at 6….so we can make plans in town on those nights!  We didn’t really feel like going home to leftovers, so we went out to eat!  We had a $25 Outback gift card, so we ate down under!  My steak was sooo good!  (I mean, do they season their steaks with crack or something?  They are delicious and addictive.  I ate the whole thing.)
I’m loving…my new stuff I got Friday at Solemates!  Yes, I beckoned in the weekend with a trip to my favorite boutique!  It is in the next town up…and it only takes me 15 or so minutes to get there…but it feels like a special trip when I go.  I love that.
I got this super cute chevron tunic (they say its a dress, but I won’t be wearing it bare legged!)
I also got this super cute lace dress!  They had long dress length camis for underneath, so I got a brown one to wear under this!  I LOVE it!
I’m loving….my Made to Crave devotional book.  It gives me some guidance every day to commit myself to turning to the Lord, not food.  It is not a diet plan.  It is simply good advice for following Jesus with my WHOLE life (even my eating habits, since I struggle there).  I highly recommend the Made to Crave book and devotional.
I’m loving…my at home french manicure.  Not bad, eh?
I’m loving…this family picture we took on Easter.  My hubs is a pretty great photographer! 🙂
Hope you all have a fantastic Wednesday!  We are halfway to the weekend (not that I’m wishing my week away or anything…I just lurve me some weekends!)

Comments

  1. You look so pretty for Easter! I love that chevron tunic! Impromptu date nights are the best!

  2. I’m LOVING that lace dress. Does this Solemates place an online website? I must find this!

  3. im loving that chevron dress so cute especially with the long necklace

  4. That chevron dress is adorable!

  5. Your French tips looks amazing! I’m assuming you have a steady hand:)

    • Thanks Diana! I use one of the nailpolish paint pens (Sally Hansen I think? From Walgreens?) and I steady my hand by propping my pinkie on another finger (like they do at the nail salon). I just copy their form and go slow! After a few tries, I got the technique down pretty well. Give it a shot! The paint pen really helps!

  6. I love love love that lace dress! It is so adorable!

What I’m Loving Wednesday!

Today I am loving….
….The Mandisa CD!  I got it at her concert this past weekend and its full of awesome uplifting songs!
…that mom will be up on Friday for us to see “In The Heights” at the Walton Arts Center!  I have wanted to see this musical since it won the Tony Award for best musical years ago!  It is FINALLY coming to a town near me!
…that there was a Groupon deal for a show in Eureka Springs that I was wanting to see on our trip next weekend!  Hey 2 for 1 tickets!  I was wanting to indulge Tyler in a bit of the “ghost” history of Eureka Springs.  One of my favorite things I have ever done there was the ghost tour of the Crescent Hotel.  However, he told me he wasn’t interested in that.  But this show is half illusions, half “medium” and I heard there were some “ghostly” things happening in it.  He will at least like the magic while I can get spooked!
…that I start my new job Monday! eeeek!
…my new necklace from Charming Charlie’s!  I have been in there twice and bought way too much each time!  But stuff is so affordable I just can’t pass it up!

Comments

  2. i LOVE LOVE LOVE Charming Charlies and your necklace!

  3. Love the necklace — so springy!

What I’m Loving Wednesday!

I am loving lots of things today!

I am loving…that we booked the Bed and Breakfast for our anniversary trip
Last year, we didn’t do anything too extravagant for our anniversary…but this year we are spending a three day weekend in Eureka Springs!  I am thinking lots of wandering through the shops, eating yummy food, a ghost tour, museums, and lots of fun with my honey!  We LOVE Bed and Breakfasts (but they are usually soooo expensive) but we found a great one that is just a bit more than a regular hotel.  And the fact that you get amazing hospitality and a wonderful gourmet breakfast makes it worth it!  So excited to go in March!
I’m loving…that we are going to see the Blue Man Group this weekend!
They are regulars to the Fayetteville area, and me, Tyler, my mom and MIL are all going Saturday night!  Can’t wait!
I’m loving…that I donated blood yesterday.  I did have a slight mishap donating on a Zumba teaching day (I was soooo worn out and had to teach with half energy)…but I found out my iron levels are great (thank you leafy greens!) and my resting heart rate is low.  The low heart rate is GREAT news!  A low resting heart rate is the sign of an “athletic” heart (according to the lady yesterday).  She said my heart is in great shape and can do its work with half the effort now because my heart is so strong.  Great news!  And I got to help save some lives by donating blood!
I’m loving… that the Razorbacks ended up ranked #5 after all the football games ended!  Woo pig sooie!
I’m loving… the dress I wore to the wedding last weekend.  (I’m on the L)
It is from Rue La La and was a $200+ dress that I got for $39!  Funny story about that dress.  I had originally ordered it in yellow and gray in an XL for $59.  Got it in and it was HUGE.  I sent it back.  Because of the nature of Rue La La, there are no exchanges, just returns.  So I lost all hope for the dress.  But they had a sample sale, and they had a pink and gray one for $39!  But they only had it in a small.  I really though I needed a Medium…but I couldn’t pass it up.  I’m losing weight, so I figured if it didn’t fit, it could be a goal dress.  But I got it in Friday, and it fit perfect!  Woohoo!  Yay for that!
I’m loving…some fitness inspiration I found on Pinterest.
I am loving life right now!  Hope you are too!

Comments

  1. That cooking quote about 21 meals needs to be framed and put in my kitchen! Although I feel like some weeks I fail 19 out of 21 and only get a 10%! Glad I found your blog

  2. I have always wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast, but we never have. Hope you have a great time! Love your dress, too!

  3. Bed and Breakfasts are the best! I hope you have a wonderful time. 🙂

  4. Eureka Sprinsg is so fun! We stayed at the Crescent….make sure you go up there and look around…take the ghost tour…so good!

  5. Are you staying at the Heart Stone Inn? Thats where my family tries to go once a year for a girls weekend and we love it! The breakfast is sooooooo good! Especially the Creme Brulee! I love walking around Eureka!

  6. Love Eureka! The hubby and I went there for our anniversary last year. Such a neat place! You’ll have to check out Silly Chilie — a spice shop along the strip of shops. They have an uh-mazing spice called “Smokin’ in the Dark” that we pretty much put on everything — even popcorn. And you’ll have to check out Ermilio’s if you’ve never been. : )

  7. I’ve always wanted to go to a B&B. So romantic and perfect for an anniversary!

What I’m Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!
I’m loving a mish-mash of things this week.
I’m loving…grapefruits!  I bought a big bag at Walmart and they have been so yummy for breakfast!  I put a little honey on them and they are sooo good!
I’m loving...this dress from Forever 21.  If anyone that loves me is reading this, I would LOVE this dress for Christmas (size L, please)
I’m loving…that Kacee became my Nook friend!  I got a Nook for graduation in May…and I had no idea you could add friends…but Kacee just got one for Christmas and you can be friends and loan books to one another.  Anyone reading have a Nook?  Want to be friends?  Leave me a comment and let me know!
I’m loving…the leftover cookies from our cookie party!  I’m letting myself have one a day and they are delish!  My favorite ones were (luckily) super easy to make.  Kara, Kacee’s sister, brought some thin mints that are just Ritz crackers dipped in mint flavored chocolate almond bark and they are sooo good.  And lucky for me, Tyler doesn’t like mint, so all the leftovers are mine! 🙂  I found you a recipe here.
I’m loving… some Pinterest finds.
To “frame” your mirror.  I want to do this in our bathrooms with the giant mirrors.
This crockpot hot chocolate was a HUGE hit at our party.  I hope to make some for Christmas at my mom’s and maybe for me and Ty on a snow day.  Its like drinking a chocolate bar!
And this bit of weight-loss inspiration!

What I’m Loving Wednesday

I forgot to weigh this morning (and frankly, after a bit of pigging out last weekend, I’m not sure I would want to!)…so instead of Weight Loss Wednesday, I’ll do WILW!
I’m loving…cooler temperatures!  It is not fall yet, and they are already saying it will be back in the 90s next week..but I’m loving a cool breeze and wearing a cardigan to work!
I’m loving…my crockpot!  I cook twice a week with my crock-pot, but last night I made some yummy BBQ chicken (  Recipe in the post below here) and it is just so nice to throw everything in, let it cook all day, come home to a warm dinner, and only have one pot to clean up.
I’m loving…my Nook!  I took it to Hot Springs this past weekend and cranked through 2 books while I was home!  I got my Nook for graduation back in May, but haven’t really used it much…only 1 book before the weekend.  However, I am back on my reading kick and loving my Nook!  So nice to not have to go to the bookstore or library, just download the book right to my Nook.  I just wish I had a light for it.  Maybe for Christmas.
I’m loving…my sewing machine!  I am trying to learn how to quilt!  I am trying to make a quilt for a friend and I’ve been sewing up a storm.  Hopefully I don’t mess it up and I can show you the finished project!

I’m loving …this short work week! Most people only have 4 days of work this week because of Labor Day, but I only have 3!  Yes THREE days of work!  I have Friday off to go to Memphis for a training, and then I’m staying the night with some friends and having a bit of fun. 🙂

I’m loving…my sweet little family- Tyler and Mikey (our dog).  They make me laugh so hard sometimes.  Love them!

What I’m Loving Wednesday

I am taking the week off my diet and hardcore exercise. Last week, teaching 4 Zumba classes, and taking 2 weight lifting classes kind of burnt me out. And this week, as I prepare for our housewarming party, I am pretty much making goodies every night at home, making it nearly impossible to stay 100% on my diet…so I’m just taking this week easy. So instead of Weight Loss Wednesday, I’m linking up to What I’m Loving Wednesday!

What I’m Loving…My new Jessica Simpson Hair Do Bump It Up hair piece!

I have very fine, thin hair…and I have trouble poofing it. So I read about this hair piece online and bought one! I LOVE it! I wore it over the weekend, but I need to work on making it look great before I rock it at work. So great! It clips in your hair at your crown, and is just basically extra hair to give you volume at the top! I love it!

I’m loving….my new holiday decor! Don’t worry, I didn’t break my no-spending for a week pledge…I bought all this last week at A to Z in town!

New Christmas decor!

Don’t you LOVE that rustic Santa! I do!

And Fall/Halloween decor!

Just LOOK at that precious Halloween kitty with her boa! LOVE it!

And I’m loving…my new soap dispensers in the guest bathroom. We have lots of colors and patterns in there and my solid soap dispensers weren’t cutting it. These are just spunky enough and match all the colors and patterns in the bathroom!

I am also loving preparing for our housewarming party this week! I am cleaning and baking! Can’t wait to show off our new home to all our family and friends on Sunday!
