Celebrating Gigi and other fun

Celebrating Gigi and other fun

We had a fun week celebrating Gigi’s birthday! We had a big family dinner together after gymnastics (for our memories…Remi kept asking us to come watch her do gymnastics with school…..so we switched her back to going after work so we can watch!). Then we also had a dinner for her on her actual birthday. Tyler was working, but we had a fun girls’ dinner!

We made Gigi “Silver Dollar City” skillets, brownie bites, and ice cream with her favorite- Nerds!

Remi LOVED making her those Olaf brownie bites! And she enjoyed eating one fresh out of the white chocolate.

We also had a quiet weekend full of LOTS of playing. I love who she is- blue lipstick, Paw Patrol pajamas, and trains. She’s unique and perfect.

She’s been very into new fun things. At the example of the “neighbors” on Daniel Tiger (the segments with real kids), we’ve played “Sink or Float” and then we made a blanket fort!  She and Daddy played Candyland in the fort….and then she slept in it all night long!

Paw Patrol Live!

Paw Patrol Live!

Way back this summer while we were in Branson, tickets went on sale for Paw Patrol Live. And the grandmas decided we needed to go, so they bought us all tickets.

On Christmas morning, when Remi opened her new Paw Patrol hoodie, we told her she could wear it in a few days to go see the Paw Patrol! She was so excited!

We got to Tulsa, grabbed a quick snack, and hit the BOK Center.

We got her a Chickaleta toy- it was so fun!

We settled into our seats (great seats!  Almost to the floor right by the stage!) and the show started.

Remi is pretty straight-faced taking it all in, but we did get a rise when she saw Captain Turbot!

The pups were SO cute. I was picturing people in stand-up costumes….but they were the walking pups! And some of them even got into their vehicles. It was very well done.

At intermission, Remi asked for a light up spinner. You could see them all over the arena, so I’m not surprised she wanted one!

She was so excited!

After the show, we hit Bass Pro (because, Tulsa, duh) and Remi LOVES the shooting gallery.

After dinner (at Los Cabos, of course- Tyler’s Tulsa must-do!), we went to see the Christmas lights at Rhema Bible College. They are BEAUTIFUL. It’s amazing that it’s all free.

It had rained all day, but it stopped while we were eating…but the reflection of water made the lights even prettier!

The weather was perfect! Not cold at all and no wind. Remi was just tired (short car nap and the night before at Mimi’s house) so we didn’t stay too long. But we saw lots of pretty lights!

It was a super fun day together! I’m so glad that we can do fun things as a family, and that Remi is so easy going with all the fun!

Christmas Eve with the Family

Christmas Eve with the Family

We always spend Christmas Eve with Tyler’s family. It’s a tradition I’ve come to LOVE. It’s laid back- we just hang out, eat and go to church together. But it’s great.

And having sweet Hattie with us this year made it even sweeter!

Remi LOVES Hattie! She “helped” her open her presents.

And we had some yummy BBQ and then got the girls in their matching Christmas outfits (down to bows and socks! ha!)

They were the most precious little Christmas angels!

RicRac and Ruffles just makes the best Christmas dresses. So sweet.

When Kelsey was putting Hattie in her car seat, she was fussing, so Remi came over to help. She sang her Jesus Loves Me and rocked the car seat. It was so precious- melted our hearts!

We went to Dwight and Heather’s church for service, and it’s so nice. I enjoy their preaching and music.

Remi was sort of all over during the service, but she enjoyed the candle light with Heather!

We got a great family photo after. Thankful for this family and how they’ve made me their own (and my mom, too!). It’s so wonderful to spend the holiday ALL together!

More Christmas Fun!

More Christmas Fun!

We had the MOST holiday fun, that there’s more to pack in here.

Remi went to the Christmas party at my dad’s nursing home…marking her THIRD visit with Santa. Girl loves the big man! Thankfully, she asked for the same thing every time- A big giant Peppa Pig house!

We went to our park one evening for Christmas lights and a train ride. We had a great time! Remi rode with Mimi, and Gigi and I shared a (tiny) seat.

Tyler and I enjoy this tradition every year!

The Friday before Christmas break, we got donuts. Remi had been cranky in the mornings, so I used it to snap her out of it. I told her if she was pleasant, we would get donuts. And she did!

We also picked up donuts for her teachers. She was excited to bring them to them!

That evening, we went to Christmas Lane, a super fun thing put on by a church in our area.

Tyler had to work, but us and the grandmas hit the town.

It was a little cold, but we had a great time!

We were waiting on the train to take us from the parking lot to Christmas Lane, and they were offering shuttle rides in church buses to help move the line along- and Remi opted for the van.

We got there and she immediately RAN to Frosty. Girl loves a mascot/costume. She chased down (and attacked) every person dressed like a reindeer, too.

This was amazing. It was ALL free, hosted by this church. Well organized, great signage, and happy volunteers.

Remi got to have a hot dog, smores, hot chocolate/cider, then we went inside and frosted a cookie (read: she took frosting shots!).

Inside, they had a cute set up where you took a photo and they put it on an ornament for you! Very sweet. There was live music, too!

Outside, there were pony rides, hay rides, carriage rides….she loved riding the ponies!

And the slide was a big hit! She was proud of herself for doing it alone!

And on the way back to the car, we got the train ride she was waiting for.

We LOVE Christmas time!
